Do you remember what Baurus said you were? (Character class)

Post » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:53 am

Thread was inspired by some other posts in this section of the forum :biggrin:

Anyone still remember? I found it massively intriguing how the game actually uses the tutorial to "assess" you, and your probable class.

If im not wrong, i think baurus thought i was an acrobat. Because i used blade and marksman, i guess.

Anyway, some of us might need some info refreshment :biggrin: So, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Classes

Or did he say i was a thief? :blink:

Short answer: Agent.

Longer answer is an excerpt from Episode 2.2 of Buffy’s Journal –

* * *

Baurus then told me how to escape and what to expect in the sewers ahead, adding, "You may encounter rats and goblins, but that shouldn't give you too much trouble. From what I've seen, I'd guess you’re an experienced agent?"

"More goblins?" I gulped. "I don't know what an agent is."

After producing some items from a pouch at his waist, Baurus uncapped an inkpot, then handed me a quill and a parchment form to fill out. "I need some information so l can make sure a full pardon is issued for whatever you're in here for. I don’t want the Legion stopping you on the way to Chorrol."

I had no idea what most of the stuff on the form was. I mean, I could read; Nilawen had taught me how so I could help her with the bookkeeping for her store. I simply didn't understand many of the questions. It seemed someone did though. I was beginning to trust Acadian, so I just closed my eyes and let him guide my hands to fill out the form.

I handed the parchment back to Baurus. He looked it over and said, "Bowgirl? Well, I wasn't too far off. Still, I don't think you'll have any trouble." He studied the form again. "Well, Buffy from Bravil, here's the key to get into the sewers. The entrance is in the next room. Once you're outside, take care of whatever you need to do, and don't take any risks. When able, make your way to Chorrol. Good luck."

There was a thread on this very subject not long ago (heh, but isn't there's always a thread "on this very subject not long ago?)

My answer is still the same. It's one of those things I never pay attention to, unfortunately. :( Wish I had, now that I know how funny it is that he chooses wrong all the time.

Poor Baurus. :sad::

I used balde, restoration, heavy armor and jumped a lot, so he concluded i was a ...bard?
Uesp lists bard as : Specialization: Stealth Attributes: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Intelligence, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Personality Skills: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Alchemy
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Blade
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Block
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Illusion
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Light_Armor
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Mercantile
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Speechcraft

No restoration, heavy armor or acrobatics, plus no way to raise illusion, speech and mercantile in the tutorial, so i just assume baurus was in shock from seeing his friends die and couldnt think straight.
