You saw the nords, but what about the others?

He's big, tall, and a meat head. If the Nord look that good, can you imagine what the other race would look like? I doubt they'll be as ripped though.

Bosners still suffering from dwarfism? Altmers still freakisly tall and looking like they stayed out in the sun too long?

The possibility are endless.

I hope they didn't completely overhaul the Bretons. I still want them to look good.

Bosmers are supposed to be short and Altmers are supposed to be tall and yellow.

I hope the races are somewhat of a "Base" look to start off with and then from there you can change skin color and I hope your appearance are based on stats (Muscle is strength, slenderness is speed or agility)

i'm pretty sure that you can be an argonian just as buff as that nord as the body build is part of character creation now. (right..?)

Change in body type should be possible for everybody unless they have added racial restrictions like max height of bosmer is 1.1, while minimum for altmer is 0.95. this make sense for auto generated bandits but will piss of many player if it also apply to them.

From the Game Informer Skyrim Issue:

"Players will still be able to craft their hero from 10 unique races as the game begins; facial and body features are entirely customizable." (pg51.)

I'd say yes. :)

The few pics I've seen the flesh tones look to have been improved from the vanilla Oblivion.
I like the ones I've seen, so hopefully all the races gain this improvement.
Other than that I hope Khajiit and Argonians gain more options to their sub types.

Did you guys see what the Redguards look like? Holy Crap they look good. On the left side of the tavern in this pic. (For bonus awesome: look at how he rests his hands on the counter, and the guy he is talking to does the same with his elbows. How come no one commented on that yet?)

If you mean the barkeep, I don't think he really is a Redguard, it's just that the shadow makes his skin look darker than it's supposed to be. The person sitting in front of him could be, though, but I can't be sure from this angle.

The characters in the screenshots we've seen so far all look considerably better than in Oblivion, but I expected that. Now what I want to see is how some of the other races have been updated, because it seems to me that the only races we've gotten a clear look at are Nords. I especially want to see Khajiit, Argonians and orcs, and we've only seen the latter two of those races in concept art, and neither image really gives us a closeup look at them.

idk... he looks an awful lot like a Redguard to me. Even the hair looks like a very short version of the fuzzy afro from Oblivion, plus he is in almost the same light as the women on the right. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

True but I won't hit my hopes up too high. I was irritaded that they dumbed down Oblivion after Morrowind so much, but when I saw a couple of videos of demo gameplay before it came out (the one that Todd comments on) I saw how much it actually was dumbed down. NPCs had so much to do and so much content in their AIs and in original release 70% of stuff in the demo video wasn't present in actual release.

Will not say that removing dynamic shadows on objects is dumbing down a game? it was done because of performance and probably because it was buggy, if it caused crash to desktop with more than 10 npc in sunshine would you still keep it? The lady who set the dog on fire was scripted but something they wanted to be true, radiant AI was tuned back to reduce the number of civil wars in towns or people leaving and getting killed by enemies or doing less fatale things like shopkeepers who stays out of their shop all the day.

That's all good except 2 things- 1st they aren't "scripted". 2nd they didn't only stop "civil wars", they made NPCs almost completely static. They only sleep, wander around and few of them do one choir here and there.

He looks nothing like a redguard. He's in shadow because the chandelier is to his back. The woman sweeping has a light on the bench to her right brightening her face. The man has clearly caucasian facial features, with a square jaw and all. His hair is medium brown slicked back behind his head, and not fuzzy at all. It is possible the man next to him is a redguard (the one sitting down) as his hair looks sort of short and fuzzy.

i said that much of the stuff in the demo was scripted, as for npc behaviour it's partial scripted as their ai package tell them to sleep they search for a free bed, eat and they search for food then eat, either from inventory or from tables, they can even find food in containers, city swimmer has no food so he tried to take it, if spottet the guards will chase him and kill him as it's no mechanism for npc to surrender to the guards.

Except for this and the incredible stupid conversations the system works in that npc move around from cell to cell and look like they do stuff, not standing still all day or walk a paht in a small area like in Morrowind who was the main purpose.

And no I don't see the system very improved in Skyrim even if they says so.

I must admit I have never seen such stuff in game, wow. I've only seen them walk, read, sit and sleep.

Yeah that was much better than Morrowind, but don't spoil Skyrim for me, I still don't know anything about it :P

It's been 200 years, and the Dunmer have been living amongst the Nords for all that time.

I'd like to see the Dunmer adopt some viking/barbarian fashion trends, like braided hair, with beads and little bits of bone in it. It'd would be an interesting look for a dark elf.

That said, they should bring back the traditional Dunmer face tattoos. And husky voices.

I'd also like to see a non-magical explanation for why Argonians can breathe underwater. Instead of beards, what if they had frilly axolotl gills? Sort of in a Fu Manchu type moustache or something.

I really hope the Argonians and Khajiit are more animal like, as they were in Morrowind, instead of more human like in Oblivion. They should at least have their own unique animations that separate them more from the other races. I don't mind not being able to wear shoes if we get "beast feet" again.
