Do you show your backstories?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:22 am

So... for your Skyrim backstories, do you like to let everyone know about them on these forums, or do you keep them to yourselves in fear that someone might use them for their own characters? I know this may seem silly because it isnt really doing any damage someone using your story for their own but it just shows how much little creativity they have for themselves... so... have/will you show your Skyrim stories or defend them from the unimaginative?

i don't mind someone using my character's background story, it's not like it's a prize winning type of writing, and hey seeing people use it kinda feels nice and shows that they liked it enough to use it.

here's mine btw:

First name: Cyrus

Last name: Dralas (family name of the adoptive father)

race: Nord (a more tanned skin than the average nord due to dilluted redguard heritage)

personality:

A calm and intelligent mind contrast with his big stature and imposing demeanor. he learned from his adoptive dunmer father everything from combat to blacksmithing, although his father wanted to teach him more in the ways of fencing he found that Cyrus was attuned to use 2 handed blades and so he often sent him on specific hunts in order for his son to improve himself.

Parentage:

Cyrus's adoptive father was in his youth a wandering fencer and scholar, he often visited cities in order to visit their libraries and challenge passing warriors. approaching his 100 years of life he was sent to morrowind in chains as a slave and worked his way up until he was allowed by the argonians limited freedom to keep researching for them.

Brief Biography:

found as a baby on the shores of Morrowind in the arms of a dead nord captain. A dunmer passing by noticed this morbid scene and came near to take a better look, as he investigates the captain's body he finds an ancient medallion that seems to have been crafted in skyrim, in the back he finds an inscription with the name Cyrus. "Curious" -the dunmer thought to himself- though the medallion is from skyrim the inscription is written in the old redguard's language, he then takes a look at the infant and sees that he is on the brink of death. Unphased by its cries the dunmer turns back and starts to walk away... as he distances himself from the shores he is struck by a powerful force in the back, making him lose his footing and look back, he looks to the baby surprised to see a torn trail of ground rock with the unconscious infant at the end, "I can use him to leave this wretched place" - the dunmer though to himself - and brought the infant with him to the small town of Gnaar Mok.

Years have passed, and young Cyrus grew amongst the dunmer slaves and argonians learning everything he could from his adoptive father who often sent him on hunts and odd mercenary jobs and while Cyrus was a formidable fighter, he never saw him recreate that shockwave from all those years ago. the rest of the village shunned Cyrus due to his heritage and often warned the father to abandon or even kill him in fear of a possible betrayal, the father knew that in time the villagers would lose their patience and drive Cyrus, if not them both, out from the village in slavery or worse...
one night, the father called the young nord to their home saying he had something important to show him, he showed Cyrus all the books and scrolls he had collected over the years, all of them describing Nord and redguard history as well as culture, he told Cyrus that the time to leave the village was coming near and that they would have to prepare for the inevitable outcome.

after a few weeks, it was time to leave morrowind and head towards skyrim, in search of knowledge and a better life away from the slavery of the argonians.
weeks, maybe months later at sea, the father and his son reached the shores of skyrim disguised as a nord slaver and his dunmer slave. the ploy worked well enough for them and they managed to travel the roads fairly safely, until cyrus was ambushed by dunmer rebels who took his father and slashed Cyrus's face cutting out his right eye, the attack left Cyrus unconscious and the rebels disappeared as fast as they came leaving him with nothing but rags on his back. Cyrus then wakes up in a prison, apparently the guards recognized him when he came into shore and after a bit of investigation they learned that Cyrus was not a slaver but rather a mer sympathizer and was awaiting execution for it, this accusation left Cyrus laughing at the irony of it all.
what happens next is yet to be told...

Happy to share mine and don't really care if someone steal some ideas. This isn't really original.
It's quite long so people might not even want to read it.

Name: Jehon Hlovoran
Race: Dark Elf
Favored Skills: Destruction, Smithing, Enchanting, Alchemy, One-Handed Weapons
Appearance: Skinny and tall. Black hair in a ponytail. Red eyes. Lots of tattoos. Two earrings in the left ear and one in the right.

Jehon was born in Sadrith Mora with a frail body, downright awful Destruction skills and with the other schools of magicka being only average. When his father realized that he was too weak to join any of the Great Houses he was sent off to Vivec together with his friend Thena where they lived alone in a small cottage and rented out Silt Striders. Then when the great eruption of Red Mountain came they both survived against all odds and so Jehon and Thena fled to Black Marsh. During their journey, they started realized that they were falling in love with each other.

In the innermost swamps of Black Marsh they met the old hero Saint Jiub who was in hiding after almost being killed by Daedra during the Oblivion Crisis. Saint Jiub trained them both in the art of war and how to survive in the wilderness. He helped Jehon master the different crafting techniques - Enchanting, Smithing and Alchemy. Jehon's weak body made his swordmanship difficult for him but since he was agile he managed to get quite decent with the sabre. He was still having trouble with his magic though and especially Destruction. Thena on the other hand had a natural talent for the school of Restoration and Jiub also taught her how to handle the dagger and blend in with the shadows.

After years of training Jehon and Thena got married and Saint Jiub gave them his blessing. Jehon made a beautiful handcrafted dagger for his wife. It was small, but sharp and deadly with a flawless ruby on the pommel and with their combined powers they managed to enchant it with the element of fire.

Not long after this, they learned that the Argonians had invaded their homeland so they decided to return to help out. Not long after crossing the border, they were ambushed by a group of Argonians led by a mighty Nord who the Argonians called "Mafre Arpen" ("Frost Noble" in Ayleid). Saint Jiub was slain by the Nord but Thena managed to save Jehon using every little bit of her powerful healing skills.

The two of them swore to revenge Saint Jiub and so they tracked the Nord all the way to his mansion in the city of Solitude in Skyrim. Thena offered to sneak in at midnight and unlock the door from inside and while Jehon didn't want to risk her being injured she managed to convice him to wait outside. Little did they know that the Frost Noble had many connections among the city guards and was informed that the two Dark Elves were coming for his head. Thena was captured by the Frost Noble who had set up a trap for her and when Jehon heard all the ruckus inside and kicked in the door he got a heavy hit to the head and passed out.

When he regained consciousness, he found himself strapped down to a chair, drugged so that he could not use his magic. Thena was hanging in the chains on her arms on the wall in front of him, completely naked. After some time Thena also woke up, only to feel the worst pain she had ever felt, with her arms were almost torn apart by her weight. Jehon was more furious than he had ever been in his life. He struggled to get free but slowly started to realize that it was meaningsless meanwhile he encouraged her the best he could and told her that everything would soon be alright.

After what felt like weeks, but only could have been a few hours the Frost Noble entered the room. Jehon was now crying desperately from seeing his beloved suffer. The Frost Noble moved Thena, who still hung in her arms, into the middle of the room, only a few inches away from the chair where Jehon was strapped down. Then he penetrated her with all his strength. Over and over again. He slowly cut her exposed body up with a small dagger. The same dagger that she recieved as a wedding gift. Thena panted heavily but she couldn't even scream. She could only look upon Jehon's paralyzed face with tears in her eyes. They both reached out to touch each other but they didn't quite make it. The open wounds, the burning from the fire enchantment and the intense pain between her legs as he continued to violate her was going to drive her insane.

She moaned out in agony and then whispered Jehon's name before she closed her eyes for the last time.

Jehon roared with all his might in a language he had never heard before. It was so loud that his lungs were on the edge of bursting. The Nord was thrown into the wall behind him by a wave of pure kinetic force. Jehon felt something now, an unholy fire of destruction had just been awakened inside of him which overcame the influence of the drug and easily let him set the ropes that ensnared him in flames with his willpower alone. Jehon got up on his feet in an instant, raised both of his hands and threw a massive flamethrower in the shape of a spear that pierced the Frost Noble's chest and exploded against the wall behind him. The Nord fell dead to the ground with his confused eyes still wide open.

Jehon had lost his last bit of strength and fell over Thena's body. He sobbed heavily for what seemed like an eternity before he finally passed out again.

Thena never woke up and Jehon was taken into custody and then sentenced to death for the murder on an influential Nord. He learned from one of the prison guards that they took the dagger and sold it to a traveling merchant for a hefty sum of money. Jehon will neither forgive the Nords nor the Argonians for their actions and if he ever gets out he will first track down the dagger, his only memento from Thena, and then let both of the people of Skyrim and the foul lizards that took his homeland suffer the consequences of their actions.

Still have some things to add.
