You mark 1 quest. You follow the marker. Then you stop to do a new quest after you find a new location that is interesting. Or radio signal then you get disrupted and do that.
I find myself doing that now. Usually infested by ghouls..
You know I really should save the inventory space for something co........OH I CAN USE THAT LATER!
I get sidetracked far too easily yes. Even more so now you can leave conversation mid sentence. The people of the commonwealth must think I am the rudest waste lander alive.
I accidentally left a conversation with an NPC and the guy actually said something like : "I thought we were having a conversation, but oh well." (lol)
I've had many kidnapped settlers die because i've gotten sidetracked. I go back to the settlement days later and wonder why there's a dead body...
I got caught up on the way to one mission but I can be forgiven because IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME.... It was a multi-way firefight between a caravan, the Brotherhood, a bunch of Super Mutants, some raiders an some Gunners. Mini nukes were going off all over the place, a Vertibird was flying around (until it got nuked) and generally it was crazypants time.
Unfortunately I entered "Ooooooooh Prettty" mode and ended up getting flanked by the Gunners and Super mutants.... I didn't survive that and when I went back to the same place.... NOBODY WAS THERE. The random battles thing really is cool about this game.
Like the one time I was having problems with some Assaultrons and suddenly, overhead comes a Vertibird and drops some BoS armoured peeps to assist me.
At times this game can be slow and boring on the way to an objective and then along comes an encounter that just takes your breath away and you have to go see the elephant.
It took me two days to do one quest and that's playing 10 hours.
Yup, Whoooo shiny! pretty much sums it up.
Lot's of, ahhhh, that's what all the shooting was about, I heard earlier looking down at the dead settlers / trader amongs the thinggs I just killed, after clearing a place I was on my way to check out and got sidetracked; too.
I often get distracted when on my way to a place of interest & end up doing something else entirely, happens a lot.
I think http://cdn2.cad-comic.com/comics/cad-20151120-a9fc8.png sums up most Fallout players experience.
Hey, I actually have ADD, and I resen... OOH, A SHINY!
all the time, unless the quest is really interesting
Yep, do it all the time. In fact, I'm doing it on my current quest. Started one quest, got sidetracked by another, and while doing that one I got sidetracked by a third. By the time I finish poking around and getting distracted, I have long forgotten what I had originally set out to do...which isn't hard for me anymore, since I tend to forget what I've gone to the fridge for.
Now, what was I doing here again?
ha this is me every time I play...it's like the game is designed to derail and detour you.
Who DOESN'T stop? Would be the better question.
Because of this new crafting system, I've been hoarding junk. Thankfully, I've collected enough of some materials that I'm just like "wtf am I even using this for?" and have stopped picking up things like asbestos and fiberglass that have specific uses I almost never need.
So accurate it hurts.
I've got more quests than I can handle. Most of them I pick up while on another, though I spend most of my time junk hunting, which has me going into places I normally wouldn't. Copper. Need more!
One of these days, I'll start taking care of them.
