Do you do the Main Quest with every character?

Yeah. If you don't play as a Nord, it gets really weird towards the end. I don't like Nords, most of my characters are mer or other human races. I think I've played every race at least once except for Nords. I only did the MQ once, and that was before I cared about the lore or RPing, and I did it on an Argonian.

Not with everyone, they need to forge their own path through skyrim and not get tangled up with issues that have nothing to do with them :)

You rang?

Most, but not all my characters, do the main quest. I haven't decided if I want to do it on my current Altmer character just yet. The appeal of being able to get into the Thalmor Embassy on the basis of race is alluring buuuuut, that's only one mission.

I usually play it to the point dragons start appearing, then the relevant guild, then do Dawnguard and MQ concurrently to the point where you need to get the you-know-what from you-know-where, then finish dawnguard, then go to Soltsheim, and then finish MQ.

And then start a new character and do the same :hehe:

So, yes. I need a central storyline as motivation, i always finish it last, and never continue past the ending  Guess i'm too used to linear games.

Yes, but overtime because my character doesnt start the main quest until I have completed dawnguard, CW, companion, College of Winterhold or the Dark Brotherhood. I complete them depending on the character, sometimes I complete two guild quest and very rarelyI complete three guild quest. After living his/her life my character offers balgruff help for his dragon problem, for different reasons. Then he/she discovers that he/she is dragonborn and roll with tge MQ and then Miraak.
