do you think we are going to have are equipment taken in HH?

Post » Thu Oct 28, 2010 9:09 am

I can't imagine they'd let us keep all our gear if any maybe they'd let us keep like one or two weapons and a little ammo, I think it's mostly for balance issues a dlc ain't gonna be hard if you walk in with all of the top tier weapons and a thousand stimpacks and then they've got a bunch of people [censored]ing that it's way to easy and the people you don't carry everything with them would think that it's too hard they've got to design the dlc for unknown charecters with god knows what for equipment so taking everything is the easiest solutions for creating a balanced experience.

I hate losing my stuff, and my followers. Every dlc has the same start " oh, something happened, and now I lost my stuff- but when I get back to the main map, all my stuff magically reapears". Stupid.

Stupid eh? Only 3 out of the 6 DLC's between F3 and NV have taken your items away. (Please God don't even try and argue Anchorage)

Slavers taking a new slave's items in the Pitt. Makes sense.
Aliens taking an abducted person's weapons. Makes sense.
Casino security system removing foriegn objects. Makes. Sense.

I'm armed to the teeth with the best weapons and 300 Stimpaks (thanks Dead Money). I've been waiting to unload all of this ammo upon someone, and Zion National Park seems like the place to do it, so I'd rather not have my weapons taken away.

VERY OFF TOPIC:But what is the movie where a guy tells Van Kilmer "il kill you" and the Van says "your dandy if you do" and then Van holds up his arms in a jesus pose...and then shoots the guy...

On topic: the only thing i need is a stealth boy and some boxing tape and yes i am the mcguyver of the unarmed skill...

wikipedia is very usefull for stuff like this. or IMDB, or netflix, or anything that has movies/actors. Just type the actors name into wikipedia and scroll down to his filmography, then look up each film till you find it. Shouldn't be too hard as you'll probably recognize it when you see the name.

I really don't care if its easy or not. RPGs are supposed to get easier anyways. Thats kind of the point of leveling up...besides, they'll probably balance it by making the enemies a lot tougher like they did in all the other DLC. I just hope they have some spots and enemies where it is actually difficdult. I'd like a NEW powerful moster enemy (similar in terms of threat level to the deathclaw, but an original monster), as well as more references (assuming its open world). Also kind of off topic, but I noticed that FO3 has much more of a horror theme to it, but DM aside theres only one or two horror themed areas. I think betheda's devs like horror more and think of fallout slightly more as a horror game than obsidian. Just look at the lack of feral ghouls in NV compared to 3, and the fact that both the pitt and point lookout (and MZ to a lesser extent) are all horror themed/and or very dark in nature. Anyways, my point is that DM was very horror themed, so HH probably wont be, at least for the most part.

if that screenshot was real, the courier is fighting in tribal garb, with a big stick. Why would he do that if he had Enclave armour and a Gauss Rifle?

You prob have to go undercover, another Pitt, only on a larger scale.

If we do keep our gear, the devs would obviously wanna show off the new stuff in the trailer. I'm still hoping we don't.

It's going to be "Hey slow down there buddy, where do you think you're going with that assortment of the highest-end equipment and enough stimpacks to tank the deathclaw promonotory? Here i'll take those off your hands, now go and focus on the damn DLC"

And that's fine.

I think it will, otherwise we would breeze through.

I seem to remember Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta not removing your items from you (for the entirety of the DLC). As I recall, neither of them were a breeze...at least the for first few playthroughs.

I hope so as long as they have a good reason for doing so. Always enjoyed working my way up from nothing in a game.

Actually, yes Anchorage would fall into that category, weather you like it or not. If I wanted to "start over", I would just start a new character. It's easier for obsidian to just lower your strength (ie- take away strong weapons, and armor) then to actually build up the DLC to be a challenge for a strong character.

We kept our weapons in Point Lookout. I think.

Yup. But not in The Pitt. You got them back eventually.

I'd rather they didn't.

Possibly yes, but ahwell.

Least I can work up my character again if this is the case, nothing like just being spawled in the wasteland with only meager or no supplie and then you got to make do. Now that I type this....I kind of do want it.

Really? Were you shocked to have your gear removed when you entered a simulation? :sadvaultboy:
