Eh. I don't think we should ever revisit the Capitol Wastes in full, maybe if there is a node system and we visit, say, Megaton or something. An entire game set in the same space as a previous installment would not be very good.

I'd rather they expand on Pitt in the next game or set it in a completely new area like NY, Commonwealth, Eerie Stretch or Ronto.

They could have explained that in the ending sliders for FO3 if Bethesda even had the slightest idea of what the ending sliders were suppose to be.
Right now?
I think we'll meet old characters or new characters who will give hints on what happened in DC.
Or if it has a map node system then maybe even be able to go back to The Citadel.

But no DLC.
Please dear god no not a DLC.
The same reason as to why I don't want a DLC for Reno or Vault City: Cause it's been done before, if I wanted to go there I'd pop in FO2.
Same with DC.

If I wanted to "see" DC I'd play FO3.

Oh I do, I really do, but not in the Capitol Wastes, we have already been there, I'd rather someplace new, but with east coast factions like the ECBoS and Talon Company present, and with them there, they can give us insight on the status of DC, like how people tell us about the NCR nowadays in NV.

What happened in D.C. can be explained outside of D.C., you know.

I'm not curious at all of what happened to the Capital Wastes. Bethesda had their chance to make a meaningful ending with real ending sliders, that left alot of questions, but people demanded continuation and we got to see the water purifier working, rivet city handing out clean water to the settlements under the supervision of BoS and we killed the Enclave, again, and dealt with caravan raiders and a crazy cult and everything is fine and dandy. Only the muties are still left, and they keep it to the DC anyways (why anyone would still want to go there is a mystery, there's alot of room in the wasteland to rebuild and there's no muties) and BoS chose to not go to Vault 87 and eliminate them even though I told them about the mutants breeding there. But there is no mystery and no questions left to be answered in D.C. to deserve a sequel. It'd be the same people, the same factions (minus Enclave), the new faction would be... more caravan raiders? Main quest is about... finding a new GECK because the purifier broke again? Gah.

I rather go to some place interesting, I rather go to a Fallout Moscow, than D.C. again. There is SO MUCH of America left that just need to tell its story. No more D.C. or Lyons or Megaton please.

Well, IMHO, as a HUGE fan of the CWBOS, I would like to know how things are going, after all, the last Maxson is there, and with him being taught by Elder Lyons, when he gets sent back west( if there is a west left, with their incompetence) and he will, there will be change with the Brotherhood, and we will see a more friendlier Brotherhood. But I digress, I want to at least hear what happened there, i agree we will not likely see what happened, if we did, i will love Bethesda forever. But i would be happy to hear if the Super Mutants were brought under control, the CWBOS continued to help the people, and the Capital Wasteland prospered. I would like to see a Fallout in any other US location, preferably Midwest, great lakes, or the commonwealth, just for the love of the bomb not the west coast again, i would still buy it, but i would seriously have my doubts to the future of the series, when you have the rest of the country and you stick to the west coast.

This. Vault 87 is the single unresolved major problem the good people of the CW face, and most likely the BoS and LW would have dealt with it within a couple years after BS. With the Enclave, Mutants, Slavers, Raiders, ect. dealt with the Washington area will finally begin to recover and in time form a government under the protection of the EBoS. That government could be a faction in a future Fallout game taking place near it's frontiers, like the NCR or Legion in NV....but there is no compelling reason to actually go there as peace and order have been restored long before.

more bethesda bashing? as far as "ending slides" bethesda games generally don't end, didn't you know that? most of their games don't have endings. geez, so who cares about ending slides....you're expecting bethesda to completely change how they make their games, it ain't gonna happen, oblivion has a 9.6 game rating, and FO3 is rated at 9.0...not easy to improve on almost perfection

If Bethesda just wanted to make a post apocalyptic Bethesda game they probably shouldn't have bought the Fallout license and made a game called Fallout 3 purporting to be a Fallout game set in the Fallout universe.

Since they did it's pretty fair to expect it to live up to what a Fallout game should be and not just what Bethesda likes doing.

You mean TES games don't end, this isn't TES XD

http://www.gamesas.com/eng/games/games_main.html

How many of those games that aren't TES do you think have a "end".

That's really the problem with the combination of Bethesda and Fallout. Bethesda isn't willing to change. Even a bit. And not even for a separate franchise which, at its core, is far different from what they've been doing.

Fallout 2 has 86 (9.5 user) and Fallout 89 (9.3 user) at metacritic - and they are 13-year-old games. Wow! Bethesda should try make games like those, with ratings like that they wouldn't lose anything - I mean, come on, those games are like older than sky, imagine a game like them with new up to date graphics... 110 (11.25 user) ratings for sure.

I keep seeing your posts and you always bring up ratings. It's just annoying, ratings aren't 100% undeniable truth.

And his comment pretty much acknowledged what you just said. He said they don't know how ending slides are supposed to be, which would make sense given they aren't used to ending their games.

They aren't changing how they make their games completely if Fallout games have an ending like they should. Fallout 3 ended initially, and that hardly made it so they "completely changed how they make their games".

I wonder what the TES fans would do if TES was bought out by Nintendo and made into a copy of the Legend of Zelda, and the got rid of over half of the TES mechanics. Maybe then they would understand out position.

Say, can you make me a list of Bethesda made games that don't end? And you can't list Morrowind or Oblivion or Skyrim. In fact, the ES series didn't begin with the play after ending until Morrowind, which looking back makes some sense considering the storylines of the expansions.

They chose to end Fallout 3 because that was how Fallout games worked. They ended. They only made Broken Steel because of the outcry about how svcky the ending was and because too many people took the phrase 'Oblivion with guns' too literally.

And your claim that Oblivion was perfection seems strange considering it was 'boring and stale' back when you were claiming that Todd had personally told you Fallout 4 would come before ESV.
