Do you think a complete rewrital of the netcode is possible? : Crysis

Even if the current issues are taken care of, the netcode is still complete jank. It seems to be almost entirely client-based which is why we often die when we really shouldn't be dying and watch a killcam of a dude headshotting us through a god damn wall afterwards.

I'm no software engineer so is that stuff even possible to fix without months of work?

I dont think its possible to fix it anymore... and ofcourse its all client side because this game was meant to be played over peer to peer hosting with 600 pings @ consoles.

while downloading porm on pc and mummy surfing internets for cookin recipies and sister downloading music via torrent... and dude would just host crysis 2 mp with **** (sh1tb0x) and 10 kb/s upload

Remake possibilities depends at current code. If problems are at values, its only some small modifications, but if code it self is no good, then it will be months rework.

Of course this "new" code should fit all platforms...

They should do like the witcher, the game was good but it had some problems, so they reworked it in the enhanced edition with even new voice work and all... Free super patch for all who bought the game.

They should rewrite the game just for PC and call it Crysis 2.5 and make it free for all who purchased Crysis 2. It should have all the the good stuff from the first Crysis and none of the **** from Crysis 2. The campaign had better directly relate to the first Crysis too.

I think that is probably whats going on right now.

but as far as the multiplayer is concerned you guys have forgotten about the leak. If I am not mistaken the leak included the encryption keys for the drm for multiplayer. I am just curious as to how you fix that.
