Funny how the Xbox gets all the deals even though 98% of PC gamers use Microsoft OS - ain't Microsoft making money?

What MSFT do in the gaming community for Xbox owners disgusts me - don't get me wrong, I have nothing wrong with Xbox owners, it's just MSFT screwing everyone else up.

They patched the PC demo, too, genius.

Also, this is the biggest load of crap ever. Yeah, Crytek and EA have a deal with Microsoft to drive down sales of their own game on other platforms, because that sounds exactly like a thing that a profit-based company would do.

This is the worst thread on the entire internet.

Everyone suspects that MS had a 'deal' with Crytek over the whole Crysis DX10 very high, but DX9 very high locked out. Or maybe Crytek just wanted everyone to think they'd worked wonders with this new DX10 API....

In any case, Crysis 2 runs better on xbox and PC because they are both DX9 machines. Oh, and imo, MS are trying to kill off windows as a gaming platform because they want you to be playing on xbox. Or do they? If they did, then why don't they offer keyboard and mouse support to entice us all over? Still, MS haven't developed a PC game in forever. It's a disgrace that they've abandonded their own OS as a gaming platform...

^This.

Also, maybe you were too busy frothing to notice, but I think I heard once somewhere that Microsoft makes one of the PC operating systems too. I guess you're probably playing Crysis on your Mac like most of the PC gaming crowd, but I seem to remember Microsoft used to be a big player in PC gaming before Apple Windows 7 and Sony DirectX APIs became the norm.

Actually (speaking now to those people who have higher cognitive processes, not the OP), isn't the word on the street that Microsoft is putting the bulk of their energy into Windows 8's gaming cred?

Considering that Xbox had the demo first, and the longest, and then IGN, and a couple of other websites reviewed the Xbox 360 version, and then cut and paste the same review to PS3, and PC reviews of Crysis on their websites, this is a no-brainer.

I also believe that the whole DX11 hold back is so that the consoles can sell their copies first, cause if the pc version was way ahead of the consoles at the games launch, it may have turned people off from buying the console version if the differences were night and day.

Damn dude, relax. Go smoke this bowl and chill.

This thread is spot on and you are FAIL. You should bring your point to Treyarch and ask the same question. Black-ops for 360 was nearly flawless when released, while the PC and PS3 versions were A$$ 360 was also the only platform to have received an MP Beta. This in no way affected sales and so far Crytek claims Crysis2 is a huge hit.

Let me get this straight..

Crytek sabotaged crysis 2 on pc and ps3 because microsoft paid them to do that.

I will believe in the Easter bunny before I will believe that

How about 360 was the lead system they developed for and as such received polishing that the other systems missed out on?

there are several reasons for that.

1. ps3 is not the easiest platform to make games for

2. 360 has the greatest market share in the console market.

3. crytek made cryengine 3 to be this one stop solution for pc, 360 and pc. And well that looks like it did not work out

4. crytek made a deal with nvidia for dx11 version of this game but could not finish it on the release date

5. if microsoft had its hands on crysis 2 in anyway, it would have been in the form of either A. it would have released first on 360 and would have been delayed for pc and ps3 B. 360 would get exclusive content that neither ps3 or pc would recieve or pc and ps3 would have to wait a period of time before they would receive that content while 360 owners would be enjoying it

Or C. They do similar to what activision [TA and IW] did with COD and made it a deliberatly crap port for the ps3 and didnt give hardly any support..... to make an example to show people that the 360 is 'better' {lol yeh right, when made for the ps3 can make a good game} than the ps3.

But that has nothing to do with microsoft. That just means that the companies that make buggy games for ps3 lack the technical know-how to take full advantage of the ps3.

the first achievement you get on 360 is named "can it run crysis?" lol its funny cause the single player on xbox is running below the high setting on pc and is running at 25 frames. its not a port because they did many more things on the pc version let alone a double resolution and AA. however the xbox still seemed to have gotten us f***ed over with the lack of an editor and DX9 :/

Thats all to do with microsft.... they had the biggest deal with them ever and this was part of it to do such a cr@ap port and take like 4 month to release even a patch while the 360 got it much erlier....

here read this post http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=17588

this is why the pc version is in the state its in.

has nothing to do with microsoft. If you believe that microsoft actually pays devs to sabotage there own ip's on platforms other than 360. Then you Sir are an Idiot

Xbox is just a name for Microsoft at the moment, the amount of money they're shedding out to keep it going as it is getting old is too much to make money on it, they just want to keep people on it till next gen as they know that the PS3 sales have overtaken the Xbox's the last 2 years, and this works well at the moment. But the money doesn't matter don't forget, they have tons of money they are one of the richest buissnes's around. they are just trying to seal their future. which svcks for allot of poeple....

You're behind the times on this. XBOX Live has really turned this around for them.

I really don't care how good it looks or doesn't look on an XBox, and I really don't care if people use them. All I care about is that the experience on the PC be great. For me, for single player, it's been great. I've enjoyed playing the game. Was never a fan of Crysis multiplayer so I don't have the same beef as others. I do wish they'd fix the weapon attachment bug, though, so we could get our 100% complete. But I'm pretty sure the MP problems will take priority (and I understand that).
