do you think fallout should be moved out of USA
this will be the 4th fallout to be in the USA
i think it time fallout moves so next game
why not fallout London or fallout Tokyo or fallout some were else
that way it starts with a fresh story and not just you vs the enclave all the time
cos when you boil the fallout story down its you vs the enclave

I'm conflicted: it would be cool to see other countries added to the game world; however, the Fallout sense of time and place is so 50's USA that it's going to lose something in transit unless you do something to compensate. To me the question is not just what place, but what pop culture do you want to see worked into the fabric of the game. If you did a setting in England, would you place it around the origin of Beat in the early 60's, or in a counterfactual world like Jasper Fforde's "Thursday Next" books?

No.

One of the best things about Fallout is the whole American 50s society and culture. Did they even have that in other countries? If they didn't, it just wouldn't be Fallout.

Sounds like a stupid idea.

IF you want post apocalyptic in other countries Stalker or Metro 2033 might be a good bet.

it'd be interesting to visit the other locals during the game or an expansion, but i don't think being set outside america is a requirement of the next game.

My thoughts being- I would have to have to see it to believe it...Though, America is just such a fine setting for Fallout.

The only other country that would make sense would be Canada, since it was made part of the US via annexing it.

Maybe after they do Fallout: New New Jersey or Fallout: Bransen Missouri, then we can start talking about moving the franchise outward.

Well, one of the main things with Fallout is that it's based of the 1950's culture and spirit that was in USA at the time, with the fear of nuclear war, SCIENCE! and cheesy commercials. Maaaaaybe there could be a spin-off taking place in UK, or maybe Canada. I don't think it'd be that interesting to play Fallout: Latvia or Fallout: Belgium... USA, China and UK are those that has been most mentioned, and maybe even Russia but for that we have Metro 2033 and the STALKER trilogy.

Metro 2033 is perhaps the closest we'll get to a Russian Fallout.

For a setting outside the USA, Canada would make the most sense, (Toronto or Montreal). After that, Mexico just south of the boarder, maybe around whats left of Houston, (Houston being the north most part of the map), Santa Fe or El Paso.

Hey!!
You already need a passport to get to those places anyway, so it's a winwin....

lol

But I could see the draw of fallout in England or Ireland....I'd really like to see what it's like and why it made Moriarty in to the bitter souless bastard he is today...well in the future...

Maybe a fallout in Mexico....
Let your character go to cancun on vacation....

No. There's still loads of America to cover, and moving it elsewhere would ruin a lot of the atmosphere, and the themed universe that has been built up.

Agree, people want to know what happened to the rest of the world. But i think its better if we dont, it adds to the atmosphere.

They should do a Fallout in Canada, with a nuclear winter. They could stay with the same classic feel and focus on radio, train stations and railroads. Do a Western Canada setting and you could have tons of lakes, mountains, and other really cool natural environments.
