Do you think Fallout 4 will top the Witcher 3?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 9:17 pm

Both games are open world action rpgs. I'm afraid that Fallout 4 is going to get a worse review than the Witcher 3. Seriously , i really hope that Fallout 4 get a perfect 10 from all game reviewers. I hate the Witcher 3 so much. I think it's overated. The combat style svcks and the animations are weird. I also can't stand mideavil games (i like Skyrim). Also do u think that there will be other vaults to explore in Fallout 4 besides Vault 111? Some of my best memories about past Fallout games was exploring different vaults that had a creepiness about them hope Fallout 4 gets game of the year!

Can't be compared. Even if they are both open-world RPGs, Witcher and Fallout follow different philosophies.

there is a hight chance that Fallout 4 dont get a 10 like MGSV did, maybe 8-9

Still for me Fallout 4 will own Witcher 3 on the face, maybe doesnt have better dialogues but Witcher 3 is not that great game for me.

Fallout getting a 10 on all game reviewers is highly unlikely. Do I think Fallout 4 will top the witcher? In terms of sales, yes I do.

Never played Witcher 3 so I can't comment on that but I'm willing to bet FO4 will top it in terms of review scores and GOTY awards riding on its hype alone. But at the end of the day scores and awards mean nothing so I don't see why it's that big of the deal, especially since even if a game has some flaws they'll give it a 10/10 anyway.

Game reviews are merely opinions. Reviewers are biased and will give a higher score to what they like. If they like fantasy and boobs, then they will give a higher score to The Witcher 3. If they like post-apocalyptic worlds with Mutants, Radiation, and Energy Weapons, then they will give a higher score to Fallout 4. Of course, if a game consistently gets 30% from all reviewers, then the game has some very serious problems while a game consistently getting over 90% is a game that should be worth playing unless you don't like the style of the game.

However, Fallout 4 already tops The Witcher 3 in one aspect since 4 > 3.

I love the TW3 but it's a no-brainer that FO has a bigger fandom and therefore it will definitely surpass TW3 and some other popular games. But this is meaningless to me as a consumer. If people are having a blast, then more power to them. Besides, CDPR should feel mighty proud of what they have achieved. Any company dreams of having over 200 awards and great returns of profits. I never regret buying TW3. CDPR customer service has made me applaud and forget any shortcomings TW3 has.

I can't wait for Just Cause 3 as well. That game is pure blast and it has already gone gold before release.

It will if your more of a Fallout fan, it won't if your more of a Witcher fan. :P

I think it's a good question. I felt the Witcher 3 combat system was sort of clunky, especially having to "luck out" with recipes. So I think FO4 will beat it hands down when it comes to crafting and game play. That said, I do also think it's hard to compare the two in that regard, but Witcher 3 feels more like something that's somewhat a homage to old school RPGs and games like bloodborne. It's sort of like, Witcher 3 you can play really, really well if you get decked out in gear and master the combat system. FO4 seems to be easier to pick up and go, but I suspect it has a low mastery ceiling. One area I do expect W3 to beat Fallout 4 is narrative - not necessarily story as I'm confident in BGS to deliver something that feels complete and relative original. However, I doubt it will reach the emotional peaks that W3 did.

Will Fallout 4 top the Witcher 3?

From a writing perspective -- I don't think so. I'm not even sure they can be compared from a writing perspective either. I feel like the Witcher takes itself much more seriously than Fallout 4 but we won't know until we play it!

From what I've seen visually from Fallout 4, I don't think it stands up to the Witcher either.

I'm sure the gameplay will be a lot more fun than the Witcher though. That's not to say the Witcher's gameplay was boring, it was just very straight forward.

A more interesting comparison is Fallout 4 vs. Cyberpunk 2077. Both have their apex of human development set in the exact same year. Of course, it will take some time before we know what Cyberpunk 2077 consists of. Will it be similar to Deus Ex or will it have a more open-world design like The Witcher 3.

From an individual anolysis of game features there's no question that TW3 does certain things amazing. I'll be EXTREMELY surprised if Beth surpasses storytelling/writing of TW3 as well in terms of advanced graphical effects.

Depends upon how you're comparing them. If you're comparing them as RPGs or about story/quests/dialogue, then Witcher 3 will almost definitely win.

If you're comparing them as first/third-person shooters, then Fallout 4 obviously wins.

If you're comparing them as 'build your own world/person/town'-games, then Fallout 4 wins.

If you're comparing them as open world games with lots of fun content, it's up in the air.

I predict that I'll enjoy Fallout 4 more than I did Witcher 3 (even though I really enjoyed Witcher 3) because I:

A. Quite enjoy FPS games, and Fallout 4 looks to be a decent one.

B. Really enjoy the look of the customization system, including settlements.

C. Enjoy modding games, and know the Bethesda method of modding much better than the CDProjektRed system.

D. Have given up on Bethesda's Fallouts being anything like the originals (which are some of my favorite games of all time).

I played Witcher 3, and honestly...I wasn't all that impressed. It was definitely a good game, but it felt kind of hollow. And don't get me started on the two endings. That was so dumb.

Graphics, that is your limited opinion, of course. MGSV doesn't even have HBAO+. Furthermore, I know your TW3 comments. You're that TW3 hater and I certainly don't want to waste my time arguing with someone who sees the game more from a personal lens than factual things.

Overrated? I highly doubt TW3 or the series suffers from an universal overrating - besides those who are completely blind diehard fans - because the series lacks the solid fandom of TES/FO. Frankly, if there is a series between these two that is more deserving of the title of being super "overrated" is TES/FO. Have you seen the countless absurd fandom videos on YouTube?

Unfortunately a lot of reviewers tend to cut a game off at the knees if the graphics are not state of the art and crisp, so from that perspective i think it will get lower rating than The Witcher 3, and to be honest in my own case i do not care what they got in a review when i am already getting the game or interested in it i either view footage of a game or go from what i see from in-game footage, and as long as the game is fun and i have hundreds of hours worth of game-play to mess with i will be fine with that.

And once people start uploading clips and such of in-game activities i think people will get the game in due time regardless of what some reviewer wrote, do i recommend people avoid reviews no but do not always take them to heart if you have a game you are waiting for some of their views vary in the different persons perspective is very random at best.

Can't really compare them. 1'st person primary/3'rd person secondary RPG with an open world that is not static against a Strict 3'rd person extremely rigid open world and heavier scripting.

Those are two very different design philosophies and CDProjekt doesn't quite have the same amount of resources that Bethesda has. Will Fallout 4 be overall superior in total gameplay experience? Yes they always are. But Projekt did a bang up job with the resources at hand and made an excellect game. They could easily give Bethesda some healthy competition if they allow themselves as a studio to grow just a little bit more.

The witcher 3 was really good, but I prefer the style of bethesda games. I think it might not get as good of reviews but I'll probably like it more personally
