Do you think Skyrim lived up to the hype?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 11:31 pm

The ONE thing Im dissapointed with.

Trailer: FusRo-DAH! (1:06 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBFJqVHtYkA )

Game: Fus...RODAH!( 0:17 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aEtniLd3fE )

The trailer version is SO much more amazing. And I can't be the only one who thinks so.

I'm an a xbox player, and I love it. Worth waiting for the midnight release and worth logging 150+ hours.

The presence of bugs doesn't affect my play so much that it alters my opinion.

It lived up to the hype in my opinion.

Honestly I didn't really follow the game and only bought it like 2-3 weeks after it was released so I didn't notice that much hype.

Totally lived up to my expectations. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the crime system, but everything else rocks. This is currently my favorite game ever.

Yes. Remember, there seem to be many people complain about the game. But the rest of us (a few million) rather keeps on playing.

Yes, and then some.

Thing is 99% of players are happily playing. The majority of them don't even use gaming forums. As such I'd expect you to get an unrealistic bias here.

When it comes to gaming forums the saying "haters gonna hate" is all to true.

Lore was crap
quests were crap
perks are too powerful
game is unbalanced

Totally disagree with all of this.

Yes, it has lived up to the hype.

However, it's not a game for young, immature easily bored adolescents. I would encourage those types to go play WoW.

Having said that, there are legitimate complaints that I feel can be fixed with updates and mods. -_-

Hey, thanks for stopping by with the gratuitous WoW dig. A lot of random people play WoW - try not to be insulting. There are some many many different types of games out there, stuff to please everyone. If you are going to sneer at the gamers whose taste you don't like, please do it elsewhere.

On topic: I was looking forward to this game, but I did not get over-hyped about it. If you hype up anything - game, movie, vacation plans, first date... you set yourself up for likely disappointment and have no one but yourself to blame really. I am absolutely enjoying Skyrim, utterly absorbing and fun.

to be fair, very few games live up to the "hype" nowadays.

however, in my opinion, skyrim wasn't even close.

More or less. I thought it would be a great game and it was. I wasn't expecting it to cure cancer, fix all my relationships and give my whole life meaning like some people were, though.

Skyrim represents an amazing first impression. However, many stones turned reveal missed opportunities, botching and a certain lack of vision.

This really is my impression too. I went from :ooo: to

But i never follow any pre-release hype, so it was about what i expected froma Bethesda game; a game that can be modded into perfection (and modders won't have to work as hard with this as with Oblivion :hehe:)

Skyrim is awesome, you can't compare it to other games (well, at least other games which are not made by bethesda), because it has it's own class.

So if you complain about skyrim, it's more about nitpicking.
