Skyrim exceeded my expectations initially, partly because my eventual disappointment in Oblivion made me a bit skeptical. There were several disappointments in Skyrim as well, but none so severe that I would consider them flaws of any major importance, especially since the improvements easily outweigh them.
The more I play Skyrim, though, the more I start to miss little things that were irreplaceable in Morrowind and Daggerfall - some of which have only now been removed, and some that have been abscent before Skyrim. The biggest pity of all is that Skyrim competes in a category and a time that force it to be accessible and pleasing to the masses. Hence, a lot of little things that are precious yet clumsy or frustrating must be cut out. So in my opinion, even if there is something fundamentally wrong with Skyrim, it's pretty naive to say it's entirely Bethesda's fault for making such a crappy game. They do have a market to respond to.
But, to sum up, I was - and am - satisfied with the game. A few details, some gameplay features and a bunch of bugs aside, there's not much that I would've wanted to see done differently.
