Not to be rude, but, DUH. Simply going by graphics, it is so much better. Also, I played Morrowind a bit recently and made the mistake of playing it right after playing Oblivion. I stopped after the first five minutes.

In some aspects, like character leveling, maybe, but for the likes of armor slots, no.

All in all, we shall wait and see.

Because of the hopefully WAY improved AI and Radiant Story, I think this has the potential to be the best game thus far. And better graphics, animations and all that yada yada too. :D

honestly morrowind (to me atleast) is much better game if you consider the story, of course skyrim will have great graphics and gameplay but so would morrowind if it was made today so overall morrowind is better, though i can't wait for skyrim either :D

In every other aspect, yes. But greaves.. why? WHY? I need my greaves!!

I'm obviously kidding, I don't give a crap about greaves. I believe Skyrim will be better than Morrowind.

well it could be i am hoping it will be better, but from oblivion experience (the story was good though not nearly as good as morrowind, but just remember all those oblivion gates quests they just made them to prolong the main quest)I don't think it will be as epic as morrowind's, but I hope I am wrong

If you thought that OB was better than MW then probably yes.

Skyrim will be better as action-adventure and will have better gameplay and graphics but Morrowind is most likely better as an rpg and have much more depth and complexity. Based on the info so far.

I recently went back to playing Morrowind as well and I would agree compared to OB graphics were disappointing, but then I found this http://bethblog.com/index.php/category/morrowind/ and I would highly recommend it Ardaalus. It brings the graphics on par (as closely as possible) with OB and makes the Morrowind feel like a brand new game!

Cheers!

On Topic; I may also play a thief/mage type character especially since Alchemy is under the stealth category this go around! :D And I have enjoyed all current Elder Scrolls games for what they are without worrying one kickin' the others butt! They all rock! :tes:

Will it be better? No.

Will it be better than Oblivion? No.

Will it be better than Arena? No.

But let's take Oblivion. Was Oblivion better than Morrowind? No.

Was Oblivion better than Daggerfall? No.

Arena? No.

What about Morrowind? It wasn't better than Daggerfall or Arena. And Daggerfall wasn't better than Arena?

What will Skyrim be? Skyrim will be DIFFERENT. The only thing that ever improves is graphics. Skyrim will capture the TES magic, just as it's intended to.

Sadly, i played oblivion before morrowind. So i struggle to really get into morrowind, but in ways it was a quality game, but i think skyrim will be better in many ways. But you cannot beat the originality of morrowind!

Nice, and who had that Morrowind mod link for OB scale graphics?

Hopefully the exploration and variety of interesting locations and environments from Morrowind, plus the mechanics (but upgraded) from Oblivion should make Skyrim amazing. Morrowind and Oblivion were both great, but they both exceeded in what the other one failed, whereas Skyrim is trying to mix them both, which could give us one of the best ES to date.

Morrowind is a timeless classic , Skyrim will be just another game from the raw ; it will be released same year with The Witcher 2 so i imagine it will only be important for gaming sites that host Beth's "exclusives" and adds .

You can't really say what will be better before you play Skyrim.

Personally i don't give a mudcrabs loins about armor slots, merged or not merged sets of armor, how meny different types of weapons and what not people generally complain about. For me exploration of the world, interaction with the world and just the generel feel of the world is the thing most important to me. There are ofc other
things i find important as well, but you gotta remember that when you cut to the bone these games are separate games with their own "space" and story. I know its all
in Tamriel, but each provins of Tamriel is its own and should therefor not be the same.

I don't know wich will be the best but my speculations are as follows.

Exploration: Morrowind > Oblivion due to pointers and to much handholding in Oblivion. I dont know how Skyrim will do, but i feel it will be more OB then MW sadly.

Interaction: Morrowind <> Oblivion: Neither outshined the other in this point i think. MW did have better guards but i dont feel like that would tip the scale as i do enjoy both games.. As for Skyrim we have been promised good guards and a new law system and interacting with the people have been improved(could have been better in both OB and MW) plus animation and combat have been improved so on this point i feel skyrim will rock the socks off both MW and OB.

Feel of the world: Graphics and stuff like broad recognision of your person in the game have always been wierd. I think it will be better in Skyrim.

All in all i hope skyrim will be a better game. If you can turn off waypoints and hand holding in the exploration aspect i will be all set i think.
Looking forward to playing it thats for sure.

I sure hope that it will be "better" in the ways that many of you are mentioning such as graphics and gameplay. Morrowind is ten years old afterall.....

However, whether or not it will be better for it's time is the question you should be asking. Morrowind is #1 on my all time list, so Skyrim has some big shoes to fill in order to take over that spot. The immersion factor in Morrowind was off the charts and Oblivion fell far short in that category. Let's hope that they reverse that trend. :tes:

I made the same mistake, and now i feel like i'm missing out on something because all my friends say that morrowind was an awesome game. idk i just can't play it after playing oblivion first it looked like it could have been fun if it was the other way around.
