Do you think the DLC's should be re-enterable?

Post » Tue Aug 17, 2010 2:54 pm

Just as the topic states, would you rather have re-enterable DLC areas, or one time use deals like Dead Money? I feel I get more out of my money if I can re-enter when I want. I realize that you can delete the add on, and reinstall, but they are so linear that you have to walk back through everything.

Completely depends on the area. Most of the time yes, but in some cases I'd rather not be able to go back.

Depends. I don't even care to go back to Zeta or The Pitt, and I wouldn't go back if you could to anchorage. The Sierra Madre was a one time thing. Who wants to have a toxic cloud slowly murder you anyways :) This next DLC looks like my kind of area though

Sierra Madre I wouldn't care to go back to, but Utah national park is something that we really should be allowed to go back to.

It would depend on the nature of the DLC; for ones like Dead Money it makes sense that we cannot return, although I will admit to initially being disappointed that it's set up that way.

In order for it to make sense to be able to return to a DLC area, said area needs to be set up from the beginning with that in mind so that there's an actual reason to do so.

Depends.

If it's a region (Point Lookout) as opposed to a place (Sierra Madre) then yes. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.

Going back to a place - such as the Sierra Madre - is completely pointless. Especially if you do the smart thing and clear it out before you leave.

I understand how you should be locked out of the Dead Money Vault, but the rest of the place should be able to be revisited. It would open up some new options with Christine and Veronica (maybe even Lily and Dog?), as well.

I voted yes, but it's not a HUGE deal if it's a place like Dead Money. People complained that you couldn't go back to the Sierra Madre after release, but really, how often did you go back to The Pitt in FO3?
Once your done, I mean, your done..

Missing out on some of the weapons, apparel, and the snowglobe of course does svck, but you could just fix that by adding those items somewhere in the main game ala Tesla Cannon style.

This ^

I would like to go back to Zion National Park even once I'm done with the quests, just a place to explore really. Not sure what they'll do with OWB and LR yet.

Depends. If the DLC are is changed by your actions like Dead Money then there is no point in going back. If its like Point Lookout or the Pitt then yes.

I figure if it's set up to get it all in one shot then that's what you need to do.
I mean really, how many here only go through once? If you missed something then get it on the next runthrough.

I would prefer them to be re-enterable but sometimes it makes sense for them not too be.

It depends. In a DLC like Sierra Madre? No. Any future DLC location? Depends on alot of factors, mainly what the story is revolving around.
