Do you think the ending will be epic?

Post » Sat Sep 10, 2011 5:01 am

Morrowinds ending was a joke and Oblivions was DECENT but not satisfying to me in any way.

Do you think that Skyrim will deliver in an amazing story and great ending? Even Fallout 3 was laughable.

I think they have learned a lot over the years and will deliver.

I agree about Oblivion's, the ending was okay but I hardly had anything to do with it except another routine take-down of an Oblivion Gate, before getting first row seats to watch a gigantic AI monster battle.

If it's true, from what I heard, that Skyrim's MQ will last 30+ hours I would be incredibly surprised if the ending was of medicore standard.

Morrowind's ending was a joke... But Oblivion's was decent? And Fallout 3's wasn't good either..?

Is there such a thing as a good ending for you?

I am hoping the fight with Alduin (if we indeed fight him) is an epic, nerve-wracking 25+ minute affair of survival with no "one hit kill plot device item".

Well its not like the bad endings(IMO) ruined any of the games I mentioned.

Morrowinds was BAD to me...Oblivions was solid and better then Fallout 3.

But overall compared to other single player games the games I mentioned are not in the same league. I know that they really focus on the mass world and options so I am not complaining just wondering.

Wondering if they could put an amazing open world and great ending together for the ultimate package really.

I think it has the potential to be the better than Oblivion, and very good, not sure it will be 'epic' though. Could someone fill me in on the endings of the other elder scrolls, apart from Oblivion. I know Arena has something to do with Jagar Tharn (forgot how to spell his name)

I would assume seeing Mehrunes Dagon and Akatosh in the flesh would be epic to

I completely disagree. You saved the land and rid it of the blight. It was unique and has a special place in gaming for me.

Yep, presentation, execution, and build up has a lot to do with the final result.

How long was the Oblivion MQ predicted to be?

What was it exactly that made it great to you?

All I can remember is an easy fight in front of a giant statue in a volcano. I can't say I can remember the details though, it's been a long time.

so long as i get to go full on dovahkiin on alduin, then yes it will be epic.

i never beat morrowind or fo3, but i did beat oblivion. which i thought for an ending of a story was good, but as a gamer i wanted to plant umbra right into Dagon's skull myself!!!!

so i guess as a gamer i want an ending that is more hands on, along with the good story ending.

It wasn't portrayed as "epicly" as it should have been, it was good, but not quite "epic". Also seeing Alduin the world eater would be pretty kool too.

How about the booming voice saying

"What a fool you are, I'm a God, how can you kill a God? What a grand and intoxicating innocence! How could you be so naive! There is no escape, no recall or intervention will work in this place. Come lay down your weapons, it is not too late for my mercy."

Always sends chills down my spine.

I guess a joke in production value. Like i said Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 all are some of the best games I have ever played but the endinds just felt like an after through thats all.

I can't speak for Oblivion, but I don't think Morrowind's ending was bad. The final boss was kind of underwhelming, but actually finishing the main quest, heading down out of Red Mountain, looking at the world without ashes and knowing that was because of what you did? That, to me, was epic. It's one thing to be told that you killed the bad guy and saved the world, but actually seeing the changes right away made a huge difference to me.

What I'm hoping for in Skyrim is some recognition of what you've done by the people you've dealt with, so that after it's over, you can go to places and get hailed as a hero, even as you continue exploring the world.
