do you think the envlave will rise again in a future fallout

I'm fervently against "changing" the Enclave as well. They're supposed to be paranoid and xenophobic. That's the point of the Enclave. To represent what happens when the government is fearful of its own people. It's satirical.

Cloning? Cloning is evil, what poor svcker is going to be cloned into a vast clone army? I would rank that as just as bad really, completely destroying identity itself and just churning out cannon-fodder? The way I see it the Enclave survivors need to find an un-opened Vault and just barricade themselves in it for 100 years to rebuild and re-organise whilst not letting the Vault Dwellers much greater numbers erode the principles and the "ends justify the means" attitude. Also, Androids don't exist, right? :cryvaultboy:

They did trade pissy laser pistols to the fools in the Salvadore casino in Fallout 2 in exchange for chemical components and slaves.

Lol. Well, I would prefer baby vats to cloning. Hmm, kinda reminds me of movie few years back with kurt russell. Soldier I think it was called. Kinda reminded me of an Enclave-ish type thing.

Yes, they did trade in FO2. I was thinking about that.

The thing is, they don't have to barricade themselves in a vault. They can utilize their resources. Personally, I like the Talon Company, or any merc group idea, combined with sentry bots to guard their bases and outposts while inside it is business as usual with whatever scheme they up to.

This protects their members and soldiers, allows them to work, and be relatively safe.

NCR doesn't strike me as satirical. Neither does the BoS. Or the FoA.

I meant xenophobic and paranoid.

Also, not too much satire in FO3. Except from mostly the lone wanderer, depending how you played.

It would be impossible for you to join the Enclave, unless it's some pussified splinter faction, that is. If you are not born into it, they want you dead.

What if the player starts as a member of the Enclave? You get to either desert or stay loyal. That would be awesome.

That could work for a Fallout: Tactics - style game, but not a regular Fallout, it limits your choices too severely.

The NCR isn't xenophobic at all. In fact they are very open. Hell, even the Legion isn't xenophobic as so much as extremist.

I would say everyone is paranoid.

NCR wasn't so welcoming in FO2, and they fairly paranoid.

Boomers, Tribals, Vault Dwellers, all have the fear and paranoia. Seeing how there is very little diplomacy that goes on between these griups, it makes them all stink of fear. Why are Legion and NCR at war? NCR controls power, everyone wants it, Legion a group big enough to take it. But, anyone ever think of sharing? Not so much in post apoc.

I've always viewed it as pretty funny irony seeing how everyone complains about others being paranoid xenophobes, when in many ways, everyone is.

I think Jules in FONV explains it pretty good. One of my fav minor npc, too bad he wasn't developed more.

Really? Cuz I'm pretty sure they have sealed compound. Doesn't exactly say Hi come on in, to me.

You can always equip a weapon in town and see what happens I guess.

Yeah not allowing people who drift in from the nuclear wasteland to go around waving laser rifles and magnums, paranoid bastards! Having walls too, pretty clear to me that they think that tribe of Khan Mongol immitators are planning something, obviously the NCR is run by some crazy people.

Lol. At least Enclave or BoS don't care if you walk around strapped. Tandi is nice and all, but she an exception. Most others iin NCR not so swell. Then there always Vault City.

NCR gained territory through conquest and intimidation. They just take. BoS had Helios, NCR, with what right attacked? NCR just moved in and figured everything was theirs. The root of this greed is paranoia.

Most BoS in FONV think the lockdown and seclusion is bunk, and they want to be out.

Anyway, this is why you have to earn trust with each faction, cuz they are all paranoid, some more than others.

Don't forget how they hired mercs to force Vault City into annexation so they would get their hands on all the medical tech without frosty relations; the NCR higher echelons are greedy bastards in my opinion and the wasteland only benefits from them by pure circumstance, any law is better than no law in this case.

Of course fully justifying the NCR, that is the point, Vault City was being too stingy or something with their deals so the NCR thought "[censored] it, we'll just take the lot"

And the Enclave are a bunch of cannon fodder pushovers, and their power armor is as good as Metal Armor. See, I can use Fallout 3's atrocious handling of factions as well :D

Dont talk down on Talon Company, i have faith they will be done right, like the factions in NV, in future Fallouts, perhaps Fallout 4.

I wasnt talking about you, t'was talking to shdowhuntt, and Talon Company is East Coast only, as far as we know, for now. I wasnt meaning to insult the Enclave, they're my second favorite faction in the series, i was just pointing out that you cant take the weakness of Fallout 3's enemies seriously, because you should NEVER be able to kill an Enclave soldier in APA Mk.2 with a 10mm SMG, but in Fallout 3 it was very easy, even on Very Hard, and you could kill Super Mutants with a Tire Iron, Fallout 3 butchered the toughest enemies of lore...
