Do you think the Falmer (snow elves) will appear in Skyrim?

I really, REALLY hope they don't show up in the game. That would just cheapen the legend. I do hope (and expect) that we'll at least learn some more about them.

The rieklings resemble goblins much more closely than elves of any sort, its hard to imagine why could have devolved that much. Also, falmer were supposed to be very magically talented. The ice warriors from Dawnstar seem to be much closer to the mark physically.

Yes, 'snow elves' is a lame name for them but Falmer is probably their name for their own race and sounds much better.

As a race they were extremely reclusive, and we know nothing about their architecture. I could imagine an easter egg where deep in a cavern you find a massive door that cannot be opened, or perhaps beautiful ruins atop unscaleable cliffs. Maybe a few archaeology-ish quests that raise more questions than answers. Any of that could preserve the air of mystery. Maybe even a few unique weapons of falmer make. I wouldn't want their ruins to dominate the way ayleid ruins did in OB tho.

I can sense some mysterious quests are to come in search of them here... Arch?ology Guild? xD
I guess they'll be what the Ayleids were for Oblivion and Dwemer were for Morrowind.

I'd like a small side quest line where a Meric Historian/Scholar is looking for evidence of the Falmer. He sends you on a series of quests to investigate their history and the posibility of their continued existence. During these quests you find substancial evidence that they still exist. The questline would end with the discovery of an abandoned village located remotley in the mountains, you would find a rare and powerful falmer artifact there. At that point the PC would conclude that their trail had gone cold and the quest would end.

I'd love a questline like that, where you never actualy see the Falmer but it's heavily implied that they still might exist.

It seems likely that we'll see both Falmer and Dwemer ruins probably more of the latter. I think it makes sense that the Ice tribes in Shadowkey were what's left of the Falmer and maybe we'll find something like them as what is left of the race.

I wish they were a playable race...but it looks like that's too much to hope for...imagine the dragon born is the last surviving Falmer.

remember there is also belief that the Falmer are a myth.

This. I highly doubt they will really let them "appear" in Skyrim. At least, I don't actually want them to include them in the game.

We'll definitely some minor or moderately lengthed quest associated with the falmer. As well as more in-game lore. I don't see how that won't be the case. It's Skyrim for crying out loud. It doesn't matter if they are real in-game, their myth is such that I can't see it not being addressed in some capacity. (quests, books, ruins, etc).

I don't want them revealed too much however. I enjoy them as a mythical ancient race, just like dwemer and ayleids.

No!

They don't exist any more. The ten we got are all the races that there are.

You can't encounter that which doesn't exist. All the lore around them is just fairy stories told to kiddies to scare them.

Especially Dragons!!

What are you talking about? There are plenty of races besides the playable 10 races. EDIT: You may have been sarcastic, lol. My bad, if so.

its quite possible they have been in a TES game before. Not only that, but they are pretty darn near confirmed as having existed through the quest in morrowind, and if we ran into a small handful in a glacier in the far end of Skyrim I'd really like that. Or if there were more quests to delve into the history of the Falmer to try and see if we can learn more about them
