Do you think we will be able to mount dragons at some point?

I hope not. It just seems to not fit the setting at all. I'll wait for the mods if I wanted it. I know a lot(or some) of you(included me) console gamers will argue about mods(not included me), but arguing with me won't give you a p that can run Skyrim.

i'd rather shapeshift into a dragon through means of a dragon shout since dragons themselves are rumored to have shapeshifting abilities to disguise themselves and rosh taka has also been rumored to succeed in transforming himself into a dragon.

Then TES isn't for you my friend.

Why would anyone want to ride a dragon, seriously?

Ridiculus. :banghead:

What is with this b4 crap? You do know no interent or leet speak is allowed eh? I think you better change it before the thread gets locked. I don't want to see this get locked because of lazy typing. This is a good topic.

I would like to ride dragon, it would be nice. Would be even nicer if in 1st person view to see the dragons body infront of you but we know Bethesda doesn't know how to do put arms or legs infront of you when in 1st person. I think it would be a great idea.

Again another one of those who don't like it don't have to do it stuff.

but it can be just like vampirism!! if you do not dismount the dragon b4 entering a town, everyone will be talking nasty to you!

Who is going to have the balls to talk down to someone who has just dropped into town on the back of a Dragon?

But no. No to mounting Dragons, riding Dragons, exploring your sixuality with Dragons, just no.

Where's the "hell no!" choice?

Seriously, if you want to ride a dragon and/or fly around in the sky, there are several games that'll allow you to do that. (Heck, go with Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga - turn into a dragon and fly around the sky!)

But don't try to shoehorn "riding" into any game that happens to have dragons. (Especially one where those dragons are legendary destructive forces unleashed by a god & prophecy. No, they're not going to be tamed. )

Two points. First, I think dragon mounts are a very cool idea. Second, I don't think they fit into this game. The idea of the game is to defend the populace from savage dragons. I think when I see one, it's either going to be me or the dragon. The only thing I might consider interesting is if fast travel is replaced by dragons, similar to silt striders in MW but with an animation of you flying to your destination. But even then, are these dragons really going to be tameable, I seriously don't think so.

Flying dragon mounts doesn't really fit the tone of Skyrim. Especially considering how dragons are portrayed, they aren't very friendly, and I definitely wouldn't have the urge to try and mount one.

I will mount a dragon when its decapitated corpse is on the ground in front of me....and then maybe yell "WEEEEE!" like a young child at a playground.

Beyond that, this isn't the Never Ending Story, I don't want to ride a dragon.

Well yes, when some modder will achieve thats point of modding, so it completely optional will be, who want it, then he will receive it, who don't want will just ignore it, thats easy and work for both sides.

I'd like to see an option whereby those so inclined could subdue one of those noble and intelligent beasts, then say, "You know what? I'm going to climb on your back and you're going to carry me around like you're a great big flying horse," then the dragon would rise up in a wholly righteous and completely unstoppable fury and kill their sorry ass extremely dead.

That'd amuse me.

Realistically, it's a pretty popular concept in fantasy & sci-fi. There are various novel series over the years about dragonriders (some better than others), there are games that have featured it, etc, etc, etc.

But, as with all ideas, it doesn't fit every setting / game / book..... trying to ride a dragon in, say, Middle Earth - that'd be assinine. Most universes where you can ride dragons, they're either friendly intelligent creatures who voluntarily partner with their riders; or they're only slightly intelligent predators that need to be raised from an egg by dedicated trainers, to have even a chance at riding one.

A world where they're rampaging cataclysmic forces heralding the upcoming End Of All Things?? Not going to ride the dragons. Sorry. :)

there's always the idea of shapeshifting into a dragon by means of a dragon shout.

in elders scrolls lore, the dragons themselves are rumored to have shapeshifting abilities to disguise themselves and rosh taka has also been rumored to have succeeded in transforming himself into a dragon.

"I sure hope not!"

... was missing from the poll.

...It may sound a bit silly...

Understatement of the decade.

...just think about how ridiculously ridiculous, corny, cheesy, stupid, idiotic, uninspired, foolish, altogether imbecilic it would be...

Fix'd.

...mounted on your faithful dragon friend!

Well, b4 all go "TROLL" on me...

Come on, too easy. "TROLL".

If this isn't in the game, then the modders SURELY must put it in... Right?

Unfortunately, you are right here (the only part of your post where you are in my opinion, but meh).

TL;DR: if you want to ride a dragon, go watch 'How to train your dragon' and keep that crap outta TES.
