Do you think we will be able to mount dragons at some point?

I'm pretty sure that mounting dragons will be modded in soon after the game is released. However, I'm not sure it will be "mounting" in the sense you are thinking of.

Lets all entertain the idea that dwarves still exist. They're smart if not smarter than us. They're a little smaller than us.

Now, what would you do if one walked up to you and asked if he could ride you?

You'd give them the addoring fan treatment, that's what you'd do. Its the same thing with dragons.

Why? This isn't DragonTales. Lol. Dragons are supposed to be ferocious and just evil creatures. Not a pretty little pony you want to ride.

100% absolutely yes if you play the PC version. There are flying dragon mounts in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

What is it about riding dragons that makes some people so excited?

To me it juts seems stupid...

I dunno, maybe they miss their mounts from WoW?

I'm glad there will be no dragon mounts personally, kinda diminishes the whole "epic and frightening" part.

Haha.

'thouts'

That's funny...

Anyway, no thanks. I don't want to "mount dragons," in either sense. :stare:

well if a dragon flys under you while you are jumping you probably will land on its back but then get thrown off and fall to your death

there is too much negativity. So what if mounting dragons is against """lore"""..? Who cares! It's gameplay that matters.

Let's say I defeated a dragon. IT IS an honourable beast, isn't it? Then it must follow my commands, since I defeated it in honourable battle.

I just mentioned this on one of the other dragonriding threads (and honestly - how many do we need?)

I think the idea of being able to ride around on dragons in Skyrim makes exactly as much sense as being able to ride around on Dremora in Oblivion. They're intelligent, noble, proud and vicious creatures - they're not going to let you climb on their backs and play cowboy. Give it up.

And a note on the poll - this isn't a matter of opinion, but a simple fact. Beth has already said no dragonriding. Full stop.

You're thinking of dragons from eragon. These dragons arn't "honorable." they want to eat you, and destroy everything. So no, you won't be able to mount dragons. (In either sense.)

like i said before, there's a lore/setting friendly explanaton for flying as a dragon:

there's always the idea of shapeshifting into a dragon by means of a dragon shout.

in elders scrolls lore, the dragons themselves are rumored to have shapeshifting abilities to disguise themselves and rosh taka has also been rumored to have succeeded in transforming himself into a dragon.

The dragons are there to kill you and the entire world, hence why Alduin is referred to as the world eater, so I'm sure they would rather die fighting than to accept defeat.

Yeah, yeah, we saw your post before. So because dragons can shape shift and one person in the history of Nirn was able to transform into a dragon(permanently mind you) that some how lends credit of explanation as to how we can shape shift into a dragon?

Also, far from everybody thinks it adds to gameplay in a good way... Myself included here.

and why not? dragonshouts are abilities that we acquire by "absorbing" a dragon's essence and are used by dragons. who's to say one of them isn't the shapeshifting ability? i can't find anything in the lore that says clearly that by this method shapeshifting into a dragon isn't a possibility.
it might not be in the game but it sure seems to me that it is a viable way for the people that want to fly/fight as dragon while keeping true to the lore.

How many of these threads have to be made before people get it in their heads that dragon mounts are confirmed to not be in the game.....no matter how much you want it it's not going to happen, hell they're not even sure about horse mounts let alone flying dragon mounts.

If you couldn't tell I voted no along with 119 other people against the pitiful 13 people who actually want it even though it goes completely against the lore and the entire reason that dragons are even in the game.

Edit: apparently there's two options for yes so I changed the numbers.
Also shapeshifting and mounts are two totally different things, but I still wouldn't want shapeshifting either.

There's no reason to be aggressive about an opinion like that. Doubtlessly if someone feels like it there will be a mod to allow this. I don't want it (though I do want to see at least a couple dragons that are more than just cookie-cutter villains) but it's just an opinion and people aren't "pitiful" for having an opinion that's different.
