I hope not. Never liked that DLC, but I wont get mad if there is, as I know some people LOVED that dlc, perhaps a bit to much. I Rather liked the PIT over it.
i would rather have DLC's that continue the main story then " an island" somewhere
I keep all my fingers crossed that we hopefully do not.
Well, everything you wrote was more or less a summarization of the Xcom Enemy Unknown / Enemy Within game, that was the successor of the UFO games (altho Xcom departed a bit from the originals) Hence why I said what I did in a jest. Not bashing on your idea, I just can't see myself playing Xcom type game in a Fallout setting
Honestly i hope not since aliens in Fallout universe were kinda meant as easter egg thingie, wud much rather see them expand on original lore, eather by expanding on the main story by adding more options or perhaps underwater based DLC basicly anything but alliens.
And yeah as people have already pointed out your idea is basicly a plot from UFO/X-Com series which beside it being a copyright infringment also has nothing to do in Fallout universe.
Mothership Zeta was for me by far the worst DLC in Fallouts so far so i certanly hope they dont do it again, i mean having few allien refernces and easter eggs in main game is ok but dedicating an entire DLC to revolve about that is bad idea for me at least and judging by the other posters in this thread almost all of them share that opinion.
Well, what I wrote was "From here on, the game proceeds more or less like the Microprose's masterpieces of 1993-94, UFO: Enemy Unknown, and UFO2: Terror from the Deep, which went more or less like this: (I am referring to the old "classic" games)."
I was hoping to make it clear that it was the original games, I was referring to, not the similarly-named products of the last few years. The difference is huge and I also can't see myself playing the current "X-COM" installments.
Please no, Aliens have nothing to do with anything in Fallout.
I really, really, really, really, hope NOT! MZ was horrible! Worst DLC in the history of DLCs... I mean it was cute for a minute, to be on board of a flying saucer, but the rest... terrible. The combat was really bad and the aliens were bullet sponges and well the whole thing was a mess. I have ever only played through it once, never again! Plus, it felt so far removed from the wasteland and Fallout, I thought I was in a different game!
And yes, sure, the Alien Blaster has been in the game since Fallout 1, but it was always ever just a random encounter. Beth just took it a step further with that horrid, unnecessary DLC. lol
Plot wise they are more or less the same, so don't see the difference. The fact you want to copy a plot from another game in such a direct sense, is a no go for me anyways. Full blown out alien setting just doesn't fit fallout, which is about the survival of man after a nuclear war. Not to fight back invaders from space. You can wish for it, but I don't see it happening (and I think Beth have learned their lesson anyways with MZ)
As for the Xcom installments, I can just say that the Long War mod, made it much better, and way harder. Next Xcom will follow more in the footsteps of the old games I heard, remains to be seen, but I have hope (they did take a lot of flak for the xcom's after the initial excitement settled down, and people learned it was a bit shallow) Not my business if you don't wanna play them tho, so whatever *shrug*
I would actually like to see more alien content. It's a fair point that most content that aliens and space could cover would be just as easily, and probably with more marketability, be covered with undersea content.
For me the Zetans were never just an easter egg, and they are one reason I see the Institute as humanities best and last hope.
Mothership Zeta was a fun idea (not that well executed though, like Operation Anchorage), but one alien-DLC is enough for now. Maybe in FO5's DLC...
we should TOTALLY do a DLC with Paul's mid night ride:
*Find and rescue a synth that thinks he is Paul, help him become/join minuteman
*fight/piss off Aliens, and mess up their mother ship underneath the ocean floor to activate a total war!
*join Paul to ride in a new Horse(2 heads and glowing BTW) ride from settelment to settelment in a race against time, and enjy the new riding and gunning feature using bullet time, and Calvary charge with pole arm weaponz!!
*defeat the red coated alien in a mission called "Boston massacre" and end the mission with a "Boston Tea Party" side quest to get the broken and destroyed alien mother ship as new settlement at the beach!
THAT'S FREAKING AWESOME! My vote goes to this idea 10/10.
I enjoyed Mothership Zeta. It might work better if the dlc is based on earth. Maybe an underground base like in the 1950s movie Invaders From Mars which might lead to some outer space encounter on some extremely strange looking alien planet like something out of a H.R. Giger nightmare and 1960s doomsday movies about living sentient planet out to destroy earth.
Something zany like these video nuggets-

oh [censored], Red coats, Red army (like china)... but I still want an alien battle though.... alien giant bio monster thing vs Prime Pacific rim style
I hope not. The easter egg thing in Fallout 4 was like a nice tribute to Mothership Zeta etc, and they should leave it at that.
No please, though I would LOVE to visit The Pitt again.
There will be enough aliens in Mass Effect 4 Andromeda - they fit better in that RPG, no need for aliens in Fallout.
I don't want to see a rehash of Mothership Zeta, but I WOULD like to know more about the "ancients" the Cabot family talks about. They seem less like the "Grey" Zetans and more like "Atlanteans" or whatever, so it would have more of a "Stargate" kind of a feel to it. The crown Lorenzo wears is vastly different in appearance to anything Zetan we've seen.
Well, the files on Cabots computer will give you a hint, in the form of an easter egg.
