Do you think it would be cool to have a fallout in canada?

Post » Sat Jul 31, 2010 6:31 am

Canada lacks monuments and points of interest. That's just my opinion.

Who's to say there weren't massive monuments built in Canada in the alternate timeline? If they're awesome enough in their devestated state, I don't think any players will complain that they don't recognise them from real-life monuments.

I'd like to see a Fallout set in Canada. I'd really like to see a devestated York... but who doesn't wanna see their home town Fallout 3 style? London would also be cool for me.

id love to see my home town in fallout. i live in florida, so there could be a different atmosphere to the game as well. alligators coming out of the water at you, actually, in fallout they'd be called something like rad-igators or something, but still!

True. But the same old enemies have the potential to be in Canada. Woot for the Deathclaw in Canada!!! I wonder if SM would have accents and such...

Whoa! The super mutants have been beaten to death already, they shouldn't be in any new games. :P

It wouldn't work. America has ten times the population and most gamers are from that market. The average American consumer would most likely not know of landmarks and other things within the game (If you want an example of this look at any sitcom with a Canadian character, it's all eh, and aboot. (Not trying to incite something here, it's merely an observation.)) killing the novelty of exploring the capitol mall as it would be Parliament Hill instead and many consumers would just know it as "that clock building thingy". Plus it wouldn't be smart from a marketing perspective because gamers want to be able to relate to the world they're playing in which would affect the ratings, which would affect the sales, which would affect the budget for Fallout 5.
So it won't happen but it would be cool. However it could be a DLC, maybe have the base game near the border.

Well if a Canadian fallout was made it would probably be made in toronto and that has the CN tower, niagra falls, and the boer war memorial and not to mention other cities nearby... ottawa, oshawa, oakville and they could add a train to montreal, Fallout 3 has the government buildings in downtown dc, a memorials and anchorage memorial hasnt happened an probably never will so ya... besides a lot of americans dont like canada so wouldn't they be happy to see it blown up? killing all the canadians who survived and allying with americans, and canadians could fight back? theres loads of possibilities... and i hear fallout 4 is in vegas...

fallout: new vegas is a separate title, but is not going to be deemed fallout 4. if every fallout game had a number, fallout 3 would be fallout 5.

Aboot... heheh

I had to pick 3. I can't resist it...

I think the game (if it would exist) should be in French Canada!

South Park made a really good song about it. "There's no Canada like French Canada!!".
Does French Canada even exist?

Well they'd have to hire some Canadians because the average ignorant american has absolutely zero geographic knowledge when it comes to other countries. They'd be arriving at the border with ski's and snow equipment in the middle of july asking "WHEREZ ALL DA BLIZZARDS AT YALLs?"

This isn't a joke. Its happened to me 5, count it, Five times in my life. Even with a person who lived in Buffalo. Crosses the boarder, drives 20 miles north and expects permanent snow in July.

I don't know. Nothing can be worse than a DLC taking place on a spaceship in a post-apocolyptic game, now can it?

fallout 4 is quicker then Fallout: New Vegas thats why I used it... Cod 5 is Call Of Duty World At War but cod 5 is quicker... Cod 6 is Modern Warfare 2, I dont care Fallout new vegas and fallout 4 are the same thing... Fallout 3 is obviously not Fallout 5 so ya....

If I recall, America annexed Canada, therefore it would still be placed in America.

I dont know if we could do a whole Canada game ( as cool as that would be because im Canada.) Maybe a DLC or even an expansion pack.

The CN tower would be an awesome monument, though technically it wouldn't probably have been completed...possibly not even started. Maybe it was proposed around the time, and took on a different shape/ form because of the war.

its an ok idea, depending where in canada. i would like a game where you could travel around the world. i want to see bethesda make a fallout game so large, that you can visit other countries, but i would prefer europe and to be able to see what happened to the rest of the world.
