Do you think it would be cool to have a fallout in canada?

If I recall, America annexed Canada, therefore it would still be placed in America.

True, but the Canada version could contain an uprising where the canuks take it back.

I could certainly see some potential quests involving helping or hunting down Canadian freedom fighers. I dont really care much about where the game takes place, as long as it delivers.
Edit: By the way, whats with all the talk about their healthcare?

Why would you be hunting down freedom fighters or do anything involving rebels given the state of the world ? Governments don't exist anymore.

There's no 'I don't care' choice so I was forced to vote that I've never heard of Canada.
But I have heard of it, it's the truth.
It's all the op's fault. He forced me to lie.

Hmmmm I just can't see it.

All of the raiders would ask politely for your loot instead of shooting at you.

If you refuse, you get blasted with the Rock-It Launcher - but in their case, it would be Hockey Pucks!

I think I would run from a polite raider wielding a hockey puck-laden rock-it launcher, I wouldn't know whether to shoot him, thank him or direct him to the local Tim Hortons. ;)

Hey, I was at a Canadiens/Senetors game a few months ago and the mascot had a rock-it launcher, I kid you not!

Why do you all think we have funny accents? Also I have never heard someone called a hoser except by T.V.. But seriously there are less people with some bigger targets to hit then in the U.S.. The Athabascan oil-sands (where many Americans get ther oil). Plus with a smaller population over a bigger country and well spread out more people would possible survive due to them being away from the bomb blasts (why would anybody nuke northern saskatchwen). Plus with some heavily populated areas like Vancover/Victoria, Toronto, and Quebec there could be some fun.

The main themes of Fallout is 1950-60s America, extreme patriotism, the Cold War, and ridiculous amounts of optimism, no matter the situation.

Don't see how well this would work out in Canada, but as it was annexed by the United States shortly before the Great War, perhaps you could get some interesting clashes between what remains of American patriotism and Canadian rebellion. Especially if near the border.

Why would one make the transition (relating to the setting), from a highly interesting, notable city(D.C.), to a population that is very lacking pertaining to the level of interest one has of it(Canada).

Yeah, but United States is the thirteen original colonies that declared independence and went to war against King George.

Sorry to burst your "we're safe in Canada" idea. But the trajectory of Russian and USA nukes would be directly over head of all Canadians. So Canada wouldn't be safe at all. I would have to say that New Zealand or Tasmania would be the safest places (in a non-fictional kind of way).

But really I want to shoot Super Mutant Behemouths from atop the CN tower.
Also, do 1 in 5 poster really not know of Canada?

It wouldn't work. America has ten times the population and most gamers are from that market. The average American consumer would most likely not know of landmarks and other things within the game (If you want an example of this look at any sitcom with a Canadian character, it's all eh, and aboot. (Not trying to incite something here, it's merely an observation.)) killing the novelty of exploring the capitol mall as it would be Parliament Hill instead and many consumers would just know it as "that clock building thingy". Plus it wouldn't be smart from a marketing perspective because gamers want to be able to relate to the world they're playing in which would affect the ratings, which would affect the sales, which would affect the budget for Fallout 5.
So it won't happen but it would be cool. However it could be a DLC, maybe have the base game near the border.

Eh? What is Canada Eh? That is what I voted for. Seeing that I am Canadain, living in Canada that is why I voted for it LMFAO. You are correct the Average American would not know of any landmarks outside of the USA. But so what. That would make them learn. Nothing wrong in learning other cultures is there? The game is a Fallout series. I don't think it would matter if it was in Canada, UK, Austrialia, China or where. If it's a Fallout game, people will play it.

You telling me, if the game is not in the USA, people will not play it? You telling me if Fallout 3 was in Canada, or UK or anywhere else it wouldn't have been as popular?

No, but it could affect the ratings, Fallout Canada might not score as high as FW3 as it is and since people read ratings before buy their games some people might buy other games. And with other moves Bethesda has made like MW to OB it looks like they want to appeal to the most people and mainstream their games and the American market is much larger than the Canadian.

The Dominion of Canada, would basically just be a carbon copy of the US(though with the exception of an element of loyalism, and Canada was a lot less of an ethnic diverse nation). Basically other than differences in government, military structure and speaking styles, Canada would add little to the Fallout Universe.

Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 - took place in california, oregon and nevada. But centralized in california. Made by a california company.
Fallout 3 - took place in The Washington DC area. Made by a company from maryland.
Fallout canada - Research in motion needs to buy the rights to the game for this to happen.
