Do you think it would be cool to have a fallout in canada?

Post » Sat Jul 31, 2010 4:47 am

There is no Canada in the Fallout universe, it was annexed (See invaded and conquered) by the US during the increasing war with China and focus of the war shifting towards Alaska.

I am indifferent either way to focusing the game in "Canada" or elsewhere outside the continental USA; meaning if they do I don't care, if they don't I don't care.

However, the core of the Fallout universe's setting is retro-satirical Americana and setting the game elsewhere would lose a great part of what makes Fallout...Fallout. This said, I would enjoy being able to visit other locations outside the US in a game; either via airplane or transport, I think it would be exciting if the story incorporated having to visit a foreign locale.

A spin off, like the scrapped game focusing on the Resources War in Europe and the Middle East before the bombs fell, would be most likely be the place where the setting might be outside the US.

Canada lacks monuments and points of interest. That's just my opinion.

Something tells me you've never been to Canada.

Also something tells me you've never played Fallout 1 or 2. No monuments in either of those.

The UK could be good as tenp[enny and moriarty came from there, and america is getting boring, how did the rest of the world do after the great war.

No, but it could affect the ratings, Fallout Canada might not score as high as FW3 as it is and since people read ratings before buy their games some people might buy other games. And with other moves Bethesda has made like MW to OB it looks like they want to appeal to the most people and mainstream their games and the American market is much larger than the Canadian.

I am sorry, I don't understand what you mean? It would affect the ratings? How? What difference in ratings would it be that it's in America or Canada. How can a game have a higher rating being in Canada? F3 is already rated as Mature, the 2nd highest rating a game can have. How can it have an advlt only content rating, if it was based in Canada?

Or do you mean ratings as something else?

Although I do live in Canada, my opinion isn't that biased.
Mewants a Fallout in a cold, snowy place. We could just make Fallout fashionably american and make Canada all snowy. I'd like that!
Canadians would protest claiming it isn't -40 Celsius all the time in Canada, but, we Fallout fans know otherwise.
This could be justified by the effects of nuclear war.
You know, making the place much colder...

Mutant Polar Bears! Think about it!

Along with mutant deer and moose. And beavers on a stick.
Raiders would live in igloos and you could travel by sled.
Cup a Joe's would be replaced by Tim Hortons.
And don't forget talking in French AND English if you are playing near eastern Canada. ;)

Ahh Canadian Fallout, travel the vast wintery wastes with my scavanged mounty uniform and a bacon powerd energy gun, puck launcher or super hocky stick for melee, instead of dogmeat i'd have a mutated, two headed moose, canadian raiders shouting "you're on our dang hideout eh!" "eh hoser you gonna get eet!" while throwing cans of bacon flavored beers at me, Ghouls speaking french-canadian and insisting their side of the country be seperated from the other & all fashion would be ten years behind American Fallouts ahhh yes, truely this is a great setting for fallout 4~!

Instead of Dogmeat you'd have a pet beaver, not a moose.

What's the point of having a Fallout game in Canada anyways? I doubt any country was stupid enough to waste their nukes bombing them...

The PRC would have nuked Canada back into the stone age, as they were a territorial annex/ally of the United States.

Or how about a fallout 4 in Newfoundland, everyone is nice to you so you get free caps but their clueless so they don't know how to set up merchant caravans and there is no place to spend those caps :( . The only thing of use besides caps would be fish and alcohol.

In the two hours of nuclear fire, the geography of the planet changed significantly. Entire mountain ranges were created as the earth buckled and moved under the strain of such cataclysmic pressure. Rivers and oceans around the world were contaminated with radioactive fallout and the climate changed horrifically to one, permanent season - scorching desert summer.

That is to all the people who think that there would be snow just because it is Canada.
And it is very possible that there would be a Fallout in Canda because of the city Ronto To-Ronto Toronto

I always say Fallout should ramain in the US. ALWAYS. However, since Canada is technically part of the US, I have no qualms with t.
