Do you think you will put in 300+ hours into Skyrim?

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 9:37 am

I don't see how it is possible to put 300 hours into one standard character. The most I did through the Fallout series and Oblivion was 120 hours on one character. Also I am planning on having a character for each play type: mage, stealth, and warrior.

I'm torn with which character I will make first a Warrior, a Mage, or a theif/assassin. Whichever gets the most votes I will play first.

Also I play on XBOX so no mods. Which is what I meant by standard character.

Combined between all characters, easily. With a single character maybe, who knows.

Yep, I'll probably put about 300+ hours on my main character.

Think about this tho, you got 120 hours before quiting, but if you ever went back you probably still had quest to do right. Plus you must consider people who role play, like me.

Oblivion most people only got 100+ hours out of due to the lvling making the game not fun. Fallout 3 went by quick due to the only 30-40 quest you had (Including main quest). Fallout New Vegas, was a pain to play due to all the glitches, but like Oblivion you always could find new quest.

Skyrim i predict will be like Oblivion, as in there will be many quest you won't cross even if you try. That being said, i am role playing my character meaning he will do what he wants, or has to do. He won't help every stranger he crosses, he is part of the Dark Brotherhood after all, since when have they been nice.

Also you may think you only put in 100+ hours, but did you count? I know i put in a good 150+ hours in Fallout 3 (A much much smaller game than Skyrim, with less re play value if you ask me). I put in at least 250 hours in both Fallout New Vegas, and Oblivion... i am still playing Oblivion to this day. Once you get past the graphics and leveling system Oblivion has some fun quest.

I had 750+ hours on my first Fo3 toon, and 800+ on my first OB toon.

I got them both after i was recouperating from a pretty nasty wound. So i had alot of time on my hands.

I'm surprised magic is the least popular play style.

In 1 playthrough?
I doubt it. But total split between the 3-4 characters I have planned, I think so.

I completely finished everything in Fallout 3 and got about 120 hours. This was like my fourth character about 2 years after my first. So I knew what I was doing, but I don't see the 300 hours in one character. In Oblivion I had also 120 hours and only had like 3 side quests left (not counting the oddities thing and training quests). But I did only fully discover about 2/3 of the map though so I probably had a dozen hours or so left. Also he was a mage with full invisibility half of the game so It went by very fast. I'm hoping 300 hours in Skyrim isn't 300 painstaking hours kind of like Oblivion with the somewhat dumb quests and repetitive cave, fort, mine, ruin snoozefest.

It was my favorite in Oblivion, but I feel I'm almost obligated to do full combat in Skyrim.

I had over 525 hours in on my first FO3 character who is the longest-lived char I have from any game. I know I won't get anywhere close to that many hours on a single character in Skyrim seeing as how I suffer from advanced cases of not only New Mod Addiction but also Restartitis but I hope to spend at least a couple thousand hours in Skyrim across my many characters.

My first char will be a pure Mage.

The amount of hours is really based on each persons play style. The main two I have ever seen is: A. Play through all the quests and finish the game......B. Someone who explores every possible area and dungeon they can find and move through the questlines slowly....... There is actually a third possible I have seen in a few people..... C. Do the main quest ONLY and finish the game that way...... When someone tells me they did C. I always tend to laugh sorry.........

I dont know how many characters Ill make, but Im sure Ill put in atleast 200 hours, 300 sounds feasible aswell, especially if/when the good mods come around.

I kinda contradicted myself on the poll.

I said yes I will log more than 300 hours, and I will do so on multiple characters, but then voted that I will only create 1 character.

Why? Because I will probably only create 1 character that becomes a fixture. That's how I roll in games like this. I have my ONE character that defines my experience with the game. That is my character for the game.

But for [censored] and giggles, I will go through and create alternate characters that I won't last very long with, just to do some different things. By doing that, I will log over 300 hours I'm sure.

Heh, can't vote on the last section, because my first play will be battlemage - heavy armour, single-handed axe, favouring conjuration and shield spells. So, magic and combat :D!

I'll definitely have +300 hours into Skyrim. Not sure if I'm getting them all in one character (I'l still continue playing afterwards obviously :P ), but I don't see why not

if your just going to rush thru all the quests, and just fast travel every where, then id say u wont get very many hours on it,

but if your going to role play , take your time, look around and explore id say i could easily cap300+ without even finishing the main quest.

i usually get my characters to only complete 1 quest or task a day(ingame day), i prefer if i can get them home b4 it gets too dark, then a little exploring if theyhave time, then they go home, or to the local pub for some rest an relaxation.

so by doing this this extends the game greatly.
rather than just going from quest to quest not ever stopping.

itsall up to individual play styles

You'd be surprised how many players put more than 300 hours into one character. Here's a similar thread from Oblivion General. As you can see Decrepit has 2500 hours on his character, mirocu has over 1512 on his character Lothran, and Acadian has over 700 hours on his character Buffy.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1183763-how-many-hours-on-a-single-character/

I play mainly Elder Scrolls games and I've been playing them now for over nine years. I've played Morrowind and Oblivion for tens of thousands of hours. The most I've put into one character is probably 1200 hours.
