Do you try to focus on a single quest at a time?

Post » Wed Oct 16, 2013 11:32 pm

For example, if you're doing the dark brotherhood questline. Do you try to do the quests seamlessly and without distraction, or do you just flit around and collect other side quests and explore the dungeons? Because I used to do side quests and such along the way, however after i got back to the questline i'd feel like i was "out of place", i.e its been too long since i interacted with the questline, so now im not really in the questline's mood.

Lets say i met this NPC in a random dungeon out in the wilderness. If i were to accept the quest, i'd have to "sacrifice" either that quest or the questline, as i can only do one quest at a time. And i just feel really out of place if i were to accept the quest, do some other quest and then return to the original quest later. It'd be like "Okay, im back to do the quest....wait. Whats this quest about again?Okay, im getting that for NPC X. What did he need the item for again? :stare: " It just feels funny to randomly come back to a quest and complete it like a task, instead of an experience.

Not sure im making sense here.

So now i'd mostly ignore these side quests, problem being i might just forget about it (since its in some random place out in the wilderness.)

Eh it depends. After having done the College questline numerous times, for example, it can get tedious. Usually I'll do one of those quests, then a couple side quests/purchasing sprees/upgrading, and then back to the questline. I bounce back and forth like this to keep it interesting.

I do on some characters and don't on others. I tend to pick one major quest to focus on at a time, though. I may hit some side quests while I'm doing that major quest if they are in the same area.

For example, if I'm in Riften and have a quest that sends me to Solitude, I'll check to see if I have any minor quest destinations along the way or in the area. I don't really care to hump it all the way across Skyrim for one simple item or objective. I try to make the trip worth it.

That said, my Orc gets distrcated very easily. I could be heading out to do whatever and planning a long road trip only to end up half way across the map from the original destination doing something completely unrelated. I think he has ADHD.

I usually try to do one at a time but if I can get a two for one deal on one trip, then I do that as well. An example being the 1st Dark Brotherhood quest, if I have that active and let's say Lost Legends. I hit the target in Ivarstead and then go to the nearby dungeon and clear it out. That would be an example of two for one.

This here. I don't like having too many quests at one time.

Depends on the quest. Misc quests, temple quests, daedric quests, minor faction quests or any type of faction radiant quest, yes. Major factions, Civil War or Main Quest? No. Mostly because I want the challenge at high levels by entering a new quest at the bottom of a level range for mobs (so that they are at their hardest for that range). Also I try to think about logistics of going back and forth, if I'm doing any quest and there is another one nearby I'll probably go for it so long both are not major factions, civil war, or main quest or any combination of those 3.

I try to stick to just the one quest, but when I'm traveling and see a cave icon I hadn't discovered yet, or some other dungeon icon, I can't help but go check it out. Unless I'm really determined, then I can resist the desire to explore elsewhere.

Single at a time, but any I activated along the way I made note of. The MQ was the last 'quest' I did for Skyrim and was well worth the wait.

Usually I try to stay with one questline at a time. I hate aquiring new guilds to do while I have one currently open. Even though I always do the TG and DB I wont ever cross them into each other. I just dont like havign alot of quests in my log. I guess its OCD.

I'll do 2 if they are in the same area, makes the dangerous travelling worth while.

I only do one questline at a time. I will however do side quests during that questline. I drag MQ and CoW out that way. With TG I do alot of radiant quests. Companions, I "explore" to make that longer. But with any questline, I make sure what ever they are doing it fit's the RP.

Depends on how important the quest is at that time. If its a 'go here and get this' type then i'll put it off, forget about it, then re-find it eventually. I usually put off doing quests for a long time, get a ton in my inventory, then go on a quest spree to clean up. For the past twenty hours though, i've just been exploring and decorating my home. Time well spent.

I 'intendt' to follow specific quest lines, but i ALWAYS go into unexplored caves/forts as i pas by them, and endup more often than not, going to the part of the map that has the most quest objectives... Taking the path that ill go through the most quest objectives to get there! I always have dozens of quests, and get easily ovwerwhelmed/sidetracked.. So it becomes volume, over quality for me.. Unfortunately... Ofcourse ive played probably 12 characters now, for over 2000hrs between my ps3 version, and pc version.. Now on pc ive begun toying wwith mods as well :)
