Lets say during Azura's Star quest, I turned from Expert to Novice because I didn't appreciate eating 3 people casting fireballs into my face, narrow corridor and all from the very first second. There is no shame, I want to journey and experience but I love a challenge. However, that challenge shouldn't trap and own me everytime I decide being bold...So much for watching over me Azura, you snitch.

If I didn't have an invisibility potion with me, I would have had to turn down the difficulty for that quest as well. It's impossible for an (archer) assassin if you're in a narrow, fully lit corridor and are forced into combat against two Dremora mages. Their firebreaths would completely block my view and kill me in five seconds flat on Adept.

I never even noticed there was a difficulty setting when I started the game, so I'm just playing on the "normal" difficulty - if I encounter something I can't handle in 3-4 tries I just leave it and do it later.

Master only. It's seriously exciting when i meet that guy/gal/dragon that can one shot me. It calls for some serious maneuvering and strategy, and when i win, the smile on my face makes it all worth while.

The first time i fought a dragon priest was the best RPG fight i've ever been in. He tore me a new face multiple times but i got him. Point being the game simply isn't fun unless i really have to put some thought into it. Though that goes for all games nowadays. I dont' play easy mode anymore.

When I found myself between a Dwemer Steam Centurion and a Falmer Gloomsomething at level 4, yes I did. The kicked by butt even on novice since my character simply wasn't ready to face such a challenge.

Joke poll? I'm on master, level 33, having used no exploits or power-levelling and the game is stupidly easy. I'd turn UP the difficulty if I could. Nothing can touch me. I'm a sneaky Archer with Conjuration btw, and a GOD. Game is way too easy. Having said that, it might just be ARchery that's OP. Not much hits me.

^^This. It's why I end up with over 100 save files for every Bethesda game. It's no fun if it's too easy.

This game is terribly easy when you're level 45+ even on master. I'm waiting for a mod to make the game more of a challenge.
And it seems the only thing that changes when you turn up the difficulty is the enemies hp, which doesn't mean much when their attacks svck.

Since the patch I've had to, otherwise Ancients one-shot me.

Yesterday I finally increased the difficulty up to master after I single handedly killed two dragons in a row. I don't wear any armour besides boots for sneaking. I think I've just become to much of a mage archer, so time for a little more challenge.

Yeah I can't turn it down either, the difficult parts are usually the most fun, memorable and satisfying! For me anyway, I enjoy the challenge. I'm finding Expert to be a good mix of fun & challenge, this is for someone that is role playing a little, so no fast traveling, picking armor that suits my character and not power leveling any skills. It's looking like I'll have to bump it up to master actually, I'll wait and see how my orc goes against his first ancient/elder dragon.
