Do you use Amazon?

Post » Sat Dec 06, 2014 5:33 am

I have an account and have ordered 2 items from them in the past like 3 year ago, i haven't use it since. Now i want to order something else.

My question is .. when you order an amazon item and it says (ships in 1 day) .. does the item really ship in 1 day?

Also i am not a prime member. But will it still ship in 1 day or no?

It depends on what shipping options you choose. You can pay for next day or two day shipping, although it can be a little pricey. Or if your order is over $40 you can choose free shipping, which is low priority, so it can take up to ten days or so, if they are busy. You can get lucky with free shipping, though; I ordered something on Thursday and it should arrive today.

If you spend over ten pound on Amazon you can get free shipping and your item should arrive from three to five working days, if you're buying straight from Amazon and not from another individual seller. Under ten pound and you have to pay for one day delivery, but it's not expensive at all.

If buying from another seller, it could be there in a few days or a month and will usually have you pay for shipping. It depends on where the seller is and how fast the item can get to you. It's like eBay, but I've always found Amazon to be easier to use.

Does Amazon accept Paypal? Last time I checked it doesn't but my co-worker keeps telling me that it does, and that he has bought a few things using Paypal. I don't know if that is bs.

If its directly from Amazon, then it should ship from them in one day.

I have amazon prime though, and it usually gets me my stuff in two days. I once ordered something in the afternoon and it came next day at noon. Maybe because the facility my stuff left from was 15 minutes from me...

One Day shipping is a waste of money IMO. Unless you really really need it the next day don't take it as an option. I pretty much always go with 7 day shipping and often I get it within two days or so.

naah, there are some things I would like to order from it, but they don't accept pre-paid credit cards as far as I am aware (and with how little impulse-control i have, I don't trust myself with a real credit card, even though the bank keeps constantly offering them to me)

I use Amazon, and I've always had things delivered when they are supposed to be. I'll usually go with 2 days shipping with Prime. But since I live within about 40 miles of the Amazon warehouse, it usually shows up in one day....the downside of that is sales tax...oh well, its worth it usually.

Now just to wait for drone deliveries.

Amazon is my primary online shopping web sight, sure some of their prices can be doubled the price the item would cost in a store, but sometime they sell stuff you can't find in stores and depending on who you buy it from can be worth the price.

I never order from there because my local Target price matches. What's better than that. Don't even have to wait.

I haven't heard of free seven day shipping like everyone's saying. The option I've always had was free 3-5 working days shipping when directly from Amazon, and it often arrives in two days, making one day delivery rather pointless.

No they don't, I just checked recently. I doubt they ever will either as PayPal is owned by Ebay, probably their main competitor.

If you put $35 worth of eligible items in your cart, you can choose free 5-8 day shipping. In the U.S. anyway, unsure of their policy on other sites.

Amazon's great (well, I work in e-commerce with other retailers so not so great for me). I'll order CDs from them, and I can usually score other assorted items from them or a 3rd party for less than competitors. They're good about shipping on time too, I just ordered some hard drives yesterday that shipped out today, though I do have an unshipped order from earlier last week that may have been mishandled.

yes, I use Amazon. I've bought several items there, including a pretty nice looking leather jacket, a pair of Doc Martins, a few pair of Levis, as well as a few other things. Thought about getting a prime membership, but nixed the idea the second they asked for my SS#. Sorry Amazon, but I see no logical reason why you require that information.

In the UK you get 3-5 day free shipping if you spend £10.

A lot of the stuff I order from Amazon isn't things I could find at a Target. So there's that.

I do most of my shopping on Amazon, never had a problem with them. Pretty much the only stuff I don't buy online are groceries.

Not to mention that if you have prime the 2 day shipping allows you to not have to drive to the store and saves money that way. I haven't used my prime account in a few months other than instant video (which is an awesome bonus to having Netflix), however I used to use it for almost everything when I didn't have a car.

I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon.com, more each year it seems.

I love it. The service is fantastic. I'm starting to use Amazon for stuff I would have normally just bought at a physical store just a few years ago. In addition to the service, there are things on Amazon that I can't easily get/find from a a physical store. The prices are very good - you shop around the Internet you might be able to better, but then there is a lot of hassle in that, as well as risk in given out credit card numbers to other sites.

I don't have Prime, but they still ship very quickly for many items. Sometimes in a day I think. Sometimes longer but I usually get the items quickly enough -- and as I say I don't have Prime, and also I nearly always pick "free shipping" which is supposed to be slower.

So Amazon gets very high marks from me and I'd recommend them from personal experience. I just hope they stay that way.

I've used Amazon for many years and they have never asked for my Social Security Number. If someone requested that, I suspect it was a scam and the person was not really from Amazon.
