After going on through more of the quests... do you still use Lydia?

She made it on one adventure. It was only going to be two quests. She held up fine during part 1, but on the way to dungeon 2, she got killed by a bandit. After that, I decided that my adventure was best made alone.

I've never used Lydia. So far, I've had the Khajiit caravan follower (he will be mourned... As soon as I can remember his name) and that Ienith Dunmer who worships Azura.

I've had Lydia for a LONG time. She's essentially invincible unless you finish her, so I don't think I'm going to lose her unless I want to lose her.

At first, I didn't think she'd be very useful, with my being a pure melee, heavy-armor orc warrior, but her bow is damned useful in dragon battles, and I rarely, if ever, hit her in melee combat.

Every time i go out with a follower they ALWAYS die, and since i ? Lydia so much i always end up going to my previous save before she dies so i can keep her, now she and Aela both never leave my house in whiterun, unless i am using them as pack mules while in the city...even then they still sometime end up dying occasionally...damn random dragons XD

Sadly she died... after running straight into my line of attack for the billionth time. To be honest I'm quite glad she was startingto annoy me.

I'm not using companions. It seems a little pointless.

Yeah, see, I accidentally killed her. I learned that being melee with a melee companion often ends in tears, so now I keep Aela the Huntress.

Doubling your damage ratio seems a little pointless? You really do notice the difference with a companion. You die less, enemies die faster.

I never used her. But when I was decorating my house in Whiterun she was in the bedroom sitting down and standing up repeatedly. Each time she stood up or sat down she said something like "What is it my thane." It got to be to much so I killed her. I am best person.

I haven't started the main quest. So I don't even have Lydia. I have no plans to ever do the main quest so I guess I will probably never have Lydia. But I'm happy with my Aranea Ienith.

She's always waiting, eager to interact. Alas we have nothing to talk about.

Lydia can't die unless YOU kill her. She just acts like an important NPC when something else kills her. You are too reckless ;o

OT: Now she just guards my wife and house. I took her with me through the main story-line though.

Edit : She's super useful to pure melee characters like mine (until dragonrend).

Really now?

You miss out on quite a few neat shouts by doing that...not to mention a few ranks.

I used her for a VERY short time. Did not prefer her. Most especially when I found a mage to join me. I dismissed her, but now, she is ALWAYS in my house, and I can't get her to leave. And I can't find someone to write me up a restraining order.

Honestly after when rolling my sneaky archer I assumed she'd just get in the way by blowing my cover, but she's as good at sneaking as I am and a lifesaver when something needs to be tanked. Kicks [censored] with the bow too. So she not only stays with me at all times, I also make sure she has top notch gear and keep the healing hands spell in my favourites list :)

Yes I use Lydia still. I give her armors to change up her look from time to time. Right now I'm working on upgrading the Forsworn Armours so she'll wear them instead of her steel armor (+it's skimpy) ;D

The only companion I have used so far is Illia. She does pretty well for me so I'll likely use her until I make a new character. Lydia just sits in my house and tells me how wonderful I am when I come by to drop stuff off or sleep.

For the billionth time, this is not true. ANY DoT or AoE cast by an enemy will kill her, as will stray enemy arrows, sword swings and some traps.

I still have her. I WANT to get rid of her, but she's too damned useful and the way I play I'd have to fully kit out another Follower to replace her (I won't strip her of the gear she's earned). I am saving up gear for future housecarls and other possible Followers though.

Yes I use Lydia. Every night, after a few hours of questing and I return to Breezehome. She has dinner cooked and then after I eat I "use" her for a while before bed!

Badum-tish!
