Do you use the Type3 body/armor replacer?

If so, why? If not, why not? Just looking into something for a mod I'm making.

I don't play female characters. Almost every outfit on the nexus is for type 3, but that does me no good :P

Yes. For several reasons.

1. It looks much better than the rather meh vanilla body.
2. It's not completely outlandish.
3. Seeing a raider wearing barely anything, then removing the armor and seeing a t-shirt and shorts is just jarring and silly.
4. Eyecandy.

So yeah, i use it. Did for Fallout 3 as well. It's also what most modded outfits are using, so it's the most viable body replacer for females.

as the matter of fact I do. I like how type3 preserves the feminine curves of the female npc's, without making them look out of place. one problem though, their bodies are way too clean and smooth. I always imagined raiders and common townsfolk as dirty, espacially under those conditions.

Yes and yes. Dirty skins for raiders, hi-rez textures for the ghouls, my player's body and texture varies depending on the character.

Edit: Why? Because there weren't enough clothes made for the Exnem body. My current FO3 character is an Exnem and she's really hurting for nice things whereas my Vegas Type 3 girl has a different outfit for every day of the year.

No, currently I am using Andis-MK3-Babe-NV. I think it looks better than Type 3. I did use Type 3 for FO3 until recently. When I changed to Babe in NV I also changed in FO3 as well.

EDIT: I agree with Ghouls in that other body replacers are sorely lacking in the clothing department. I think we nee a Victorias Secret: Wasteland Edition.

I find it terribly made (have you seen the way the arms distort?), and fairly unrealistic (looks like a stick girl), and overly skinny girls aren't sixy to me.

I prefer the vanilla.

Ever since it was originally released for Fallout 3. Haven't seen any reason to change, and it has the best clothing/armor selection available.

I did for about 3 days. Then I removed it, for one simple reason. In those three days, I CTD'd over 20 times. I play frequently, and to date, my CTD count is right around 26.

So, at least for me, it seemed to make the game highly unstable. Without it, things run smooth on my system.

I always use Type 3 textures. I use the bodies/textures on the NPCs running around in the Wasteland or the Mojave and maybe one of my companions (they usually have their own custom race setups so I can give them their own body type as well). I prefer to use more unusual (but based on Type3 for the textures) bodies for my own character. My favorite, for my fave character, is humannature66's Skinny body replacer.

Re: armor

It is very convenient playing with one of the "regular" Type 3 bodies. There are so many available armors. But I often give that up to have more unique looking body types for my character and companions.

This. I honestly find the vanilla female body much more attractive than the weird, doll-like type3. However the vault-shirt-on-stripped-raider situation does bother me so I use Colourless' Naked and Topless Underwear Models. Truth be told exnem's body is my favorite, but it looks weird with FOOK added armors. I prefer body mods that use the vanilla textures because they don't have compatibility issues with mod added clothing.

No, for the same reason a lot people here don't: it's a bloody twig.

I used Exmen before but switched to BABE.

I've converted a few things to BABE Mk3 for my own use... The replacer packs out there for BABE are for an older version of it, the arms now are MUCH better rigged.

Firstly, I use the Type V body, which is a variant of the Type 3 body.

My reasons for using it? Mainly because most of the clothing mods that are made are made for the Type 3 female body, not the vanilla body. A lot of them are silly "bikini armours", granted, but there are quite a few real gems there too.

Edit: My personal preference would be for the Exnem female body, but alas there aren't nearly as many clothes/armour options for that body.

Slightly off topic, but the male body question is somewhat more mixed IMO. Until recently I only used the vanilla male body but now I'm trying out the Breeze male body. The downside is that a lot of the mods are still made for the vanilla male body only so I may end up sacrificing the use of some really cool Breeze-only outfits just because the majority rules.

I used exnem also, but stopped when it became apparent that he wasn't going to support it further. Which probably is why others stopped supporting it also.

I was hoping it would turn into something similar to what HGEC was for oblivion with several very different variants.

I think that's the one, exnem I have been using in Fallout 3.
It's just a simple 'advlt' topless mod for the vanilla bodies.
Is there something like that available for New Vegas?

I agree with this, sorry to say. Ever since MC called them 'noodle arms' it's stuck with me and I can't unsee them

Still, I voted yes and yes. I guess I'll use it until something better comes along, perhaps
Exnem's would've been alright as I used it in both FO3 and Oblivion. I haven't used BABE for a long long time. I'm sure it's improved if MadCat approves :)
I'm not that good at conversions, unfortunately, so for body mods need to wait for others to do it instead.

When I started playing NV I found the vanilla body to be just fine. But, the clothing and armor that I liked was only made for Type 3, not vanilla so unless I wanted texture issues I had to switch.

I have the same thought about the default body as Space Oden69 (although I play a male character, which makes the tank-top jarring), so I followed his setup with the Topless Underwear Models by Colourless. I can't link to it due to forum rules but if you go to http://www.fallout3nexus.com and search for it by name or author you'll find it. It's the vanilla body mesh but the paths are the same so no GECK-work needed.

Been using it forever.
If only because I really dislike the vanilla wide square shoulders.

Yup, used it in FO3 and using it in NV.

Why: wide range of clothing (don't like the bikini armors but like others have said, there are some nice armors for it) and a lot of mesh choices since it's pretty popular. Still I wish someone would make a more buffed version with stronger arms without the body looking like that of a body-builder.

I used exnem in Oblivion and liked it. I switched Type3 in FO3 because exnem was no longer supported and I used FOOK. I use Type 3 in FONV out of habit ...
Type3 is well supported with a larger choice in clothes and armour. I agree about the arms being 'off', though...

As for not being 'realistic', this is a game ... I see enough 'real-life' bodies in real-life ...

I, like Pinto, only play male characters. So it's of no use to me. I'm not using it for NPCs (vanilla or outfits) either, because I find it too over the top for my tastes, it's just a little bit overdone and has undertones that I can't appreciate. But then, I'm usually the odd one out when it comes to gamers. :P

Really, I find most body mods more than a little tasteless and lacking in aesthetic observation, truth be told. I think vanilla does it better, and all I'd like is a seamless version of the vanilla body if I ever used a body mod. It's just my opinion though, and as always with opinions, one's mileage will most certainly vary.

But yes, I find the vanilla bodies the most tastefully done of all bodies, they're subtle.

Even with Oblivion I always used Robert's bodys. Those Type 3 or whatever really ruin the immersion imo.
