Do you want to be able to ride dragons?

God am I sick of threads on this topic and all the other cliche over-talked-about ones.

He said recently they're considering it.

Actually he confirmed them out in the GTTV interview if I remember correctly and has said "I don't think so" in all the other interviews he's been in so far.

Closest I've ever seen to a claim of considering it went something like "We're thinking about it...but aren't going to implement it." And that was once, compared to no less than 3 variants of "not gonna happen."

Well if http://greyviper.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/skyrim-dragon-perch.jpg is anything to go by, I'd say anywhere aside from its back or neck >.< Does not look comfortable

I honestly can't see the gameplay value of being able to ride dragons in Skyrim. Of course, there's always gonna be people who want it. But then again, there's always gonna be people who believe in doomsday prophecies and global conspiracies too. Bottom line is that "ridable dragons" isn't something that should even be contemplated for a game such as Skyrim, a game in which 90% of the gameplay is happening inside dungeons, let alone on foot.

If fast travel didn't exist, then maybe dragonriding would have a bit more relevance. But that's about it. Besides, fast travel IS in, so it's really not up for debate.

Dragons are supposed to be fearsome beasts, not submissive pets. I vote no

Right. I don't like how they're having a dragon assist us in combat... lame. I won't be using that shout. I guess if they had a dragon mount, I just wouldn't use it. Now that I think about it... I don't want one, but I don't care if the option is there. As long as I don't have to (same goes for the shout), it's fine with me.

Yes, and if it's such an issue of you constantly running into invisible walls, if they're there, then the maximum speed of flight can be slowed down. Oblivion was the same way, towards the southern part of the map I'd run into invisible walls every second.

I don't know where people get the idea that the dragon helps you out. You summon dragons to fight, not help you fight.

I dont think riding dragons fits the tone of the game...but to some people here, I guess you never read Dragonriders of Pern.

It would take away from the experience for me. I think it's best if it just sticks to the epic battles. I like the feeling of smallness in front of these behemoths, and that someone as small as that character has the ability to kill one. It makes the dragons seem more genuine. Flying them would make it feel too namby-pamby. Like they're tame or something, whereas, in The Elder Scrolls, they are creatures that have survived for millenia, because of their intelligence. So it's a no from me.

Todd said riding a dragon would be in the game, but not in the way we think it will. You'll probably jump on a dragons back to kill it at a certain time right before the dragon flies off.

And no, i really think riding a dragon as a method of transportation would be silly.

Hey, I'm just relaying information.

Dragon mounts:

They are supposed to be the enemy, and intelligent self conscious individuals. The only way I'm getting in the air with a dragon is in it jaws, claws, or some other form of battle situation.

or by using a dragon's abilities... like shapeshifting, by means of a dragon shout.

The only time I want to ride a dragon is if I jump off of a cliff face onto ones back in combat and ride it into the air as I cut into it with my sword.

I have heard one of the dragon shouts is the ability to summon a dragon in battle by shouting his true name. Basically making him you'r b!tch.

It would take away all joy of exploration, as you could fly over the entire province in no time, and get everywhere. It wouldn't fit IMO.

I hope you're right, but what's the point of summoning a dragon to fight, if it's not helpful? You mean summon one to fight me? I think that would take the fun out of it.

I'd like them to be wandering about. I don't want to summon it. Either way, it's a shout I won't use.

It detract from their sense of power. If they can easily be tamed then they just wouldn't feel powerful
