Do you want a console in skyrim?

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 2:45 am

Im talking about the "§" button console, not a ps3 or xbox ;)

Do you guys want to see that in skyrim? Imagine the movies you could make from the beautiful landscape.
Or maybe just fool around and no-clip you self back to tamriel :)
what do you think guys? :)

it's § on mine and the console is pretty essential for testing mods so it's inn.
Probably require that you change a ini file or registry setting for it to work.

Good for fixing stuff. Like on Morrowind when you accidentally jump on the side of a bridge and can't move.

Console is pretty useful when you want to take a nice screenshot of your character.

if its even nearly as buggy as oblivion then the console is a must, couple of times the only thing allowing me to progress in a quest was the console just because of some stupid bugs

Presumably people who can't help themselves from cheating but simultaneously think it ruins their experience.

Hopefully it won't be needed for regular gameplay, but yes, it should be there anyway.

Absolutely. Without it testing mods can be nearly impossible, and it's also useful for creating cool screenshots.

For those who can't help but cheat when the console is available, you can probably disable it through the Skyrim.ini file like you could in Oblivion.

I have Morrowind on pc and OB on ps3... from wha tI've read I understand that OBs IDs and commands weren't as sencemaking and simple as Morrowinds... if I understand what I've read correctly then I hope they make 'em simple again...

I have Oblivion on 360 and PC, and the console on PC has saved me many times from awful glitches and bugs that would've ruined it for me on 360. They should have it again.

And they should let you use it on the console. Sure, it'll be a little slower to type in the commands (360 ChatPad ftw) but it would be EXTREMELY useful.

I always wondered how console players manage without tcl as in both morrowind and oblivion it was too easy to get stuck without being able to move thus forcing a re-load. Saved me many a time.

Well it is a developer console. The devs will most likely need it to test out things like they did in Oblivion.

I think a 'lite' version of the console should be implemented for us Xbox and PS3 players. No tgm or anything, just codes that CANNOT break the game or the console (as I think this is what Microsoft is worried about), but ones that can be used to fix bugs.
