Why not. It's TES, not FO. Unless you'd do the same transformation trick as Martin Septim.

Aye, it wouldn't be an Elder Scrolls game if they didn't let you.

I suppose you are thinking in fallout 3 when asking this. Keep in mind that fallout 3 comes from fallout 1 and 2, where the game could be finished (it was optional) when finished the main quest. I don't think Skyrim will end when ending the main quest. If so I simply won't makd the main quest and problem solved.

Yes

Now nobody can argue that this is or is not an Elder scrolls traditon. It's one thing that makes it unique from other RPG's as well

Yes I'm 100% in agreement that you should be able to continue after the main quest.

It depends on the story.

Yeah, the lack of this feature initially in Fallout 3 was something Todd specifically said was a mistake, so I'm sure Skyrim won't have a full-stop ending.

It depends on the story.

Story doesn't even matter, look at RDR they just had another character to play as. Idc if it is even rationally explained I just want to continue after the main quest.

I'd be shocked if Yes didn't win in a landslide. One of the best aspects of the TES series has been the amount of area you may explore. I'd say I had more fun exploring and getting lost in the middle of nowhere, then running thru the MQ. This way, you may finish the MQ and then still work your way thru the game.

In the Elder Scrolls the game continues after the main quest. In Fallout it does not. This pattern should be kept.

Absolutely. As long as you don't have to tidy up after the inevitably messy final battle.

Sure, not that I ever continue playing however. Once I finish the main quest, I lose interest in a game. Even in Daggerfall and Morrowind, it was months (and years in the case of MW) before I played the games again. This also extends to every other game out there.

Eh, not really.

I usually leave the conclusion until the end - after I've done all I can.

Only way I would is if I get more than a lousy set of armor or a statue. Ohhhh how about my face on a blimp?

I sincerely hope that they focus even stronger this time round on the 'living world' aspect of the game. It was done very well in Oblivion, but I think they could take it much further. I love strutting around in Tamriel, looking at the sky, patting the cuddly bears (before I kill 'em), check in on my castle, etc. Only problem is that, well, it could be even more supported than it was in Oblivion.
