Uh, not much to this topic. Crossbows are awesome, and offer they're own advantages and disadvantages to bows. It's not like you'd need another skill, since it'd be easy to toss it in with Marksman.

Melee weapons have a lot of variety, why not give marksman a bit of variety too? Just bows?.... Come on.

And about the Dwemer, the centurions are in Skyrim. And in the Tribunal expansion for Morrowind, there are Dwemer centurions that have crossbows for weapons. Maybe that will carry over into Skyrim.

Yes! I would love to be able to use a crossbow. I'm planning on being a Nord - Paladin and would really like a crossbow. Maybe also Pole Arms and Rapiers.

I always found the English longbows superior to the French crossbows. I have carried these feelings into games and will ALWAYS use a longbow. Therefore, I am impartial. For your benefit, I hope they put them in, but I will not be heartbroken if they are left out.

crossbows had a place. Crossbows did a little less max damage than their Bow counter-part but they always did the same damage (crossbow:20-20dmg, bow:1-25dmg). you couldn't release quicker, less powerful shots like with a bow, you had to reload, reset it, and then just press the trigger.

Crossbows are stupid IMO.

Not to mention that, according to the GI articles, the bow combat system is getting a complete overhaul, and in such a way that crossbows would be irrelevant. So it's best to keep them out, because they are truly redundant.

I voted yes but they should be very rare as well as their bolts. They should be heavy too but more effective then an bow.

Do I want crossbows? Not really no. Do I care if they're in or out? Not at all. I probably wouldn't use them, but having them in wouldn't spoil the game for me.

Whether they are added or not I don't mind. But I'll stick with the normal bows.

*With the exception of Van Helsing's(2004 movie) automatic crossbow, that one was just badass.

Crossbows are an essential to any place where there is plate armor. Cross bows have always been used against plate armor because they offer a lowly (and relatively untrained person) an opportunity to bring down knights. Crossbows can pierce armor and can even be upgraded to siege crossbows using a crank mechanism for even more power. I view them as an essential as are thrown weapons to marksman skills. Bring back the crossbows! Also, they are great for a stealthy character, because if I shoot something from the shadows with a crossbow, its damn well going down.

Absolutely. Since when is having more options a bad thing?

Not having crossbows (or spears/thrown weapons) by itself wouldn't keep me from the game, but it is on my list of "if these things aren't done then I'm far less likely to buy the game and just stick to when the series was actually fun and continue playing Morrowind a decade later."
