Do you want Fallout 1 and 2 remade by Bethesda?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 11:09 am

Bethesda should re do them, but with updated graphics (but still looking like the originals), fix the bugs and maybe add in new content. I think they would be great for even handhelds like PSP or DS... but the lack of space on a DS card would make it very hard.

Only Brian Fargo and Tim Cain know how to remake the series without screwing it up

And Leonard Boyarsky, Scott Campbell, Chris Taylor, Feargus Urquhart...

Well, we've atleast got Feargus in Obsidian :)

Do I want Bethesda to remake F1&2 ? well, let's see

Do I want to constantly run to shops to repair my constantly decaying weapons & armor?
Do I want to see NPCs ugly faces?
Do I want 3D ennemies models that doesn't look at all to their 2D counterpart?
Do I want overall grayish color tones?
Do I even want a port?

NO

Your joking right?

You cant get half the endings for Fallout 1 because they are bugged.

A lot of the perks are bugged, Cult of Personality etc. They dont do anything.

A bunch of the quests/dialogue are bugged so they dont work correctly.

Fallout 2 is just as buggy.

Both games could use a major facelift.

Half? You seem to be quite confused. The only bugged ending is the one where Followers gain control over Boneyard. Do some research before making such statements.

Ooooor YOU just are unable to get the endings?
Everything works in my game, and I use no patches or mods.
So you just fail.

Most certainly not, they're perfect the way they are. Make new games, not remake old ones.

The only "endings" you can get are the defeat of the Master/destruction of Mariposa and the ending is bugged so it flips the order you complete them in. You can get an ending for Necropolis, Shady Sands, Raiders, and Brotherhood of Steel. The endings for the Followers and the Hub are bugged and will only show negative.

Hub endings work JUST fine for me. You sure you have completed the Far Go Traders quest?

Because in my version, I managed to get the good "Old Harold brings ghouls into Hub" ending.

You did? Are you using an unofficial patch and if so which one? Because I have never gotten the Hub's positive ending and I have put in many thorough playthroughs of F1 over the years.

I'm also using my original CD from 1997 so maybe some of the newer releases have fixed it?

The good ending for the Hub works fine for me, and the unofficial patch doesn't touch the ending slides. The only bugged slide is the Followers of the Apocalypse one.

I have the original copies of the games got them when they were new and they are fine. I have seen all the endings, I don't have crashes and the perks work. Maybe its just the copy you have or your computer thats the problem.

Cult of personality works for me...I'm walking with 5 companions right now with only 8 charisma....

I don't have that sense of childhood nostalgia for Fallout and Fallout 2 that others here do. In honestly, I couldn't care less, BUT only if gamesas/Obsidian remake it graphically, leaving the storyline, characters, and etc intact and unaltered. If something was cut fron Fallout and Fallout 2 that was cut for time/engine reasons, thats debatable in terms of implementation. But if it's focus is purely graphical in consequence of reduced story? No.

Also, Why is this even in the New vegas section?

I think that really is the challenge. The major difference between the older titles and FO3 is the size of the terrain. The shear scope of the earlier games was great... having to wade through another 20 minute fight with Giant Mole Rats was not. If the fine folks at Bethesda could capture this scope (like they did with the Pitt DLC for FO3) and retain the level of detail (or better ) than go ahead and make them! I have played every one of the fallout titles beginning with the first in 97 and remember fondly all the nights I didn't sleep trying to find that $#&% water chip.

The gay/lisbian marriage of FO2 its gonna be cut for sure, no matter if we have lisbian/ gay characters, I dont think that some people like that kind of content, along woth childkiller. pormstar. gravedigger, slaver. etc

The killing of children will be cut, Golden Globes, Cats Paws cut and I bet the leveling system would be changed and the character creation. As well as the lock picking system. Can't kick with the FO3/New Vegas engine. Having weapons slots I bet would be gone. True random encounters would be gone. The sense of everything being days apart and surrounded by miles of wasteland will be gone. Vaults would look different, Robots would look different, Everything would look different from their 2D forms. I bet they would make the M72 Gauss rifle the FO3/NV gauss rifle.

Centaurs would only have one head if Beth Remade FO1 and FO2.

gabriel I bet they would remove Wannamingos as well as giant mole rats and floaters.

They would not make a 100% true remake thats for sure. Would not be anything close. I don't think any complany could.

If they did a 3D re-imagining of FO1&2 using the new ES:V engine I'd certainly buy it.

I forgot about the Hub, I just did a play through to get all of the positive endings and no overruns and completely forgot to do the Hub Fargo quests.

I would like to see something done like this:

Fallout Classic Collection is to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_Tactics

"Fallout Unlimited" would be to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_Tactics:_The_War_of_the_Lions
