Do you want Fallout 4 to be T-rated?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:30 am

All games in the Fallout series have an M-rating, but what about a T-rating for FO4 so that more parents are willing to let their kids play? Would you mind sacrificing some advlt themes for a T-rating?

No, I quite like my Fallout games to be M-rated.

Fallout wouldn't be the same if it were a T-Rating. That would be…. weird. I'd rather the teenager next door can't play it, than me lose the ability to messily pop the head of a Super Mutant.

I want it to be M or K-18 just like it should be.

I don't want censoring because Timmy or Billy won't be able to buy M rated games

it would be an entirely different game. i like fallout and i would play it but it would have to be a spinoff to do well i think. also how many parents are going to let the kids play the game with a t but not an m? it wouldnt be a nearly big enough demographic to accept the losses of people who wouldnt play the overly different style

For Fallout to be T-rated they would probably have to remove half the content. I don't see that happening.

I don't care what it's rated. I just want it to be good.

I highly doubt they could make a Teen rated game. If they could make one mature enough to remain Fallout I'd have no problem with that whatsoever. Not likely though given the usual content and themes.

I am not one for gratuitous cursing for the sake of it in my games.
That said, I think it adds grittiness to the FO setting. The world is a wreck. People gonna curse.

That doesn't even mention the themes dealt with (slavery, prostitution, etc..) or the absolute carnage that can be viewed from a first of third person perspective.

All of which are Ame..... Fallout dreams.

Why would you even suggest this or ask this. Of course I dont want it to be teen, this game is meant for mature people, thus the rating..

I may of been playing Fallout 3 when I was 11 years old but damn it all to hell if the ratings are going to go down to Teen so kids who I can relate to can convince their parents to buy the game :P

Keep it at M hell up it if necessary (although unlikely) cutting down on the black humor, the dark themes, the violence would give us a lesser Fallout experience.

Well after hearing the protagonist say "let's go [censored] some sh** up" I doubt we are getting a T rated game lol. Nor should we!

How could Fallout be made into a T-rated game? We ain't just talking about curse words in dialogue and some sixual content here. We're talking war, slavery, FISTO, heavy drug usage, bigotry, murder everywhere, prostitution, grotesque mutation, gore, FISTO.
The list goes on. If Fallout were rated T, we'd not be allowed to play 3 past the birthday part of the intro.

Most teenagers I know have made up their mind on drugs and six... It's not a good choice most of the time

That quote should be response enough to the original question.

Aiming for T rating for Fallout makes as much sense as aiming for PG-13 rating for a Deadpool movie.

Why not, Fallout's sacrificed so many other things, why not sacrifice the mature themes too. Hell, 'what' mature themes? We got a ghoul pirate.
