Post » Thu May 19, 2011 10:25 am

no. he was an easter egg and we don't need the same one every game.

It'd be a shame to break a tradition, though.

Msot hilarious character in Oblivion. I almost caught him once. I had to cut across some woods to meet him on the other side.... SO close. Just out of reach.

You can't be faster, but you can be equal. M'aiq has 100 dex and 100 athletics, one can only cut corners to surpass him :T

Maybe it'll be one of his descendents.

M'aiq the Liar IV

According to lore "M" or "Ma" means "child" or "apprentice". http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit#The_Khajiiti_Language:_Ta.27agra

M'aiq is a troll and a virgin. So don't expect to see his offsprings.

I'll expect whatever I want.

I think M'aiq could troll his way into some dirty, Khajiit lovemaking.

I voted no, Maiq ruins immersion. If you want easter eggs, go play WoW

I'd like to see some form of him, whether he is immortal or one of his offspring (yes I know that thing about virgin, but still).
He always fascinated me.

Do you think that Maiq doesn't ruin immersion? He says stuff that doesn't fit in the game.

He is a liar, he tends to say things that are not true, in fact they are sound rather insane. It's just you who connect it to something else.

And I won't go it more deeply, but that's not how immersion works either...

Maiq makes very clear references to the real world. A lot of players, including myself, get their game immersion ruined by it. He needs to be removed and never come back.

Would be pushing up daisies whilst rotting in the ground?
Skyrim happen 200 years after Oblivion not straight afterwards.
Did he had a missus? If so did they produce a litter of liars?

There were about 34 easter eggs in Oblivion and 39 in Morrowind

Morrwind came out with all of its easter eggs quite a bit before WoW did, yet I bet you enjoyed Morrowind, heck even possibly you had some fun in Oblivion.

Or I could be wrong and you only play TES games for Arena and Daggerfall (bet those had some too) and think Morrowind and Oblivion were bad immersion breakers with all of their easter eggs.

Edit: Oh and about M′aiq reminding us too much of real life, just be happy they contain most of it within one character and that you don′t stumble upon such things everywhere else. I′d much rather have M′aiq making most all the references than to have them scattered all around Skyrim where I don′t expect them.

Here's an idea: don't talk to him! I know, its amazing. But really, if talking to one person ruins "teh immersunz" for you, you are waaaaaay to into the game, one npc shouldn't be able to ruin your whole experience,

On one hand I hope M'aiq is dead. On the other, I would enjoy killing him myself if he isn't..
I thought he was funny in Morrowind, thought it neat he showed up in cyrodiil. But I'd like to know what ended up happening to him by the time of Skyrim, and hopefully not a first hand account.

He could be dead since it's 200 years later

But if he turned Vampire he is Immortal so there is a chance to see him as a Vampire @ Night in Skyrim somewhere in Wilderness

Or Maybe he is dead but his Spirit is still alive and we will see him as a ghost
