If you want a new companion...

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:55 pm

I'm tired dragging Lydia around as a companion and I want a new one. But I don't want to get rid of her until I find a new companion.

So I am wondering if I have to "fire her" before I get a new companion, or can I just get a new one while she's still with me? How does that work?

And witch companion is the best?

Thanks!

Tell her to leave and she'll wait for you at the Jarl's place. I replaced Uthgarde with Lydia and she (Uth) went back to the tavern where I initially met her. Still had the option of inviting her back too as long as I didnt have anyother companion at the time. Later, when a quest partnered me with someone else Lydia went back to the palace. Further down the line while on my way to the court wizard's store, I ran into her relaxing at the feast table, showing off her new Orcish Greatsword to some dude whose daughter was only able to forge common steel.
