Do you Want piecemental armour?

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 12:39 am

I had considered those interchangable with the bracers and shinguards, respectively.

How about a left sock and a right sock too?

How about contributing something useful?

No need to be a [censored] about it, I just listed off what I would like to see in a perfect world.

We're fine. Actually, if memory serves, that was the system (Save for the legs) prior to Oblivion.

Oblivion's system was perfect.

I wouldn't quite agree with that.

It was good but, :shifty: MW's was better.

I think Oblivion's was better because, although gauntlets and pauldrons were nerfed, a full enchanted armor set gives you too large of an advantage. Also, it is better to be simpler because you can more easily calculate what armor set is best for you.

Also this is all opinion.

Reducing the number of armor/clothing components isn't the only way to cap bonuses from enchanted items.

But since it's better to be simpler, maybe they should go to the "Armor + Shield + Helmet" system as used in the Shivering Isles for Dark Seducer/Golden Saint armor? Yeah, I didn't think so either.

Also this is all opinion.

*nod* Likewise.

The more armour parts the better. Idm being able to enchant your armour the way you want to enchant it, it's a singleplayer game, you make the damn rules :s. Besides, even if i'm invincible because of my enchantments i wouldn't care as long as the combat system is fun!

In Morrowind constant enchant was very high cost as service, high cost of Grand Soul gems and hard to obtain Great Souls, there was material thats have different amount of space for enchant, best are was rare, enchanting can fail in process.
Great enchants for skilled high level player that has money.
Skilled enchanters are more likely to be successful at creating new items, their enchanted items use less power and are recharged more efficiently by soul gems.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Enchanting
Daggerfall has also interesting enchanting
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Enchanting_Items
In oblivion enchanting was simplificated, all have only constant enchants.
Mage in enchanted clothes have more protection then warrior, elemental protection was imbued with physical protection, chameleon 100 was very cheap.

if you are worried of the enchantment then , how about that ... you can only enchant the gloves if are weared at pairs , only enchant pauldrons if are weared at pair and of course have the same level power enchantment?

But I think it would be more practical and logical just enchant everything but reducing the power according to the size of the object and the value of the ore used for it ...

Piecemeal, one would normally call it...

Yes. Oblivion + separate pauldrons would be satisfactory.

Whatever I will fix the thread title if I can , anyway I am not English speacker and I have read piecemental in many publications in English where referred to separated objects , then I so assumed was a correct word ....

About the PAuldrons ok I may understand some do not want to have the gloves unpaired or the boots unpaired , so may be those may aventually not be separated but I woul ddefinetly add at least two other slots:

Forearms , Knees and stomach

So

the Arms would be like Pauldron, Forearm and Glove

The Legs like Upper leg , Knee and boot

The Body like Chest and stomach

I woudl also like to have more attachments for the head ..... I hate when you wear a hat and the hairs disappear .....

So I'd say Hairs shoudn't be replaced by a hat .... but there could be also more attachments like Neck , Mouth , ears , Nose , Front .

The word (and your English) is perfectly fine, there's no need to edit anything. I was just pointing out that I've seen "piecemeal" used a lot more often than "piecemental." Sorry if my post seemed negative or hostile at all. :)

Piecemental Armor FTW!
I think it would be awesome if I could equip 3 helmets, 3 briastplates/cuirasses, 3 pairs of pants/greaves, 2 pairs of gloves/gauntlets, 2 pairs of boots/shoes, 2 completely different pauldrons, 8 rings, 3 necklaces, 4 ear rings, a robe and hood over it all, and one of those fancy hats that the Vivecian gondolier's wear on that. All of them would be enchanted twice, and inscribed upon with words of power. That would be pretty epic.

Armor that makes your character mental.

Oh come on, everyone knows it is armor made of 'pie' and 'emmental' cheese! Cheese for everyone!

So yeah, I vote yes.

Edit: I apologize, piecemental is totally correct, I'm embarrassed. Well, a little bit. Armor made of cheese sounded like fun...

Agreed. Much preferred FO3/FONV system just from an appearance standpoint. Gimme more armor sets, better fit, and less clipping.

The blind shall see, the short shall tall! Forks for all!

I wouldn't mind seeing gloves split apart, but boots should stay as a set. One Daedric glove could look pretty damn cool...
