Not personally, in my case, but I can't help being curious on this one

I don't necessarily "want" to, but I do want to have the option to. As it is now, the game really doesn't give you the option of actually being the bad guy.
Iam missing 2 Options in the Vote from the Evil-Wheel:
- Sarcasm
- Information
you have a pretty evil character if you choose to follow the institute storyline
not only are you condeming most of your followers to be replaced by a synth while they themselves are turned into supermutants you are basicly condeming whole humanity to a certain ewrinction being replaced by sybths
Being evil means what? there are lots of ways games will never let you be truly evil. Do you want a game where you can commit genocide based on race? or maybe a serial killer or sixual preditor? Do you want to be a women beater? Just wondered lol
Theoretical you should be able to change the institute as a director, so it should be up to you ( too bad we can not influence the institute after taking it over ). However, I think most people who complain that they can't play evil want to play an chaotic evil outlaw ( aka raider ), and not so much a lawful evil person
Dont we do it already?
- i would like to see Things like a Slavery Function
- joining Raiders or the Gunners
The Problem is being the good Father/Mother so those Options could be Problem for integrating it in the Mainquest or something like that. To bad that Bethesda took already the being Evil Option out of the Game. Seems liek they dont want Work in that Direction.
Sometimes i think People just copy/paste the Loadscreen Description. Instittue is not really more or less Evil than the others. Play all Factions then you will see it or maybe not.
Just saying the Institute isnt the Evil Option we want and we need.
IMHO not really a problem. Your loving father/mother become mad because of the psychological trauma he/she experienced. And beside this, even evil people can be loving parents.
Would've loved it if they expanded on the evil side a bit more. The Gunners were essentially very similar to Raiders in terms that they shoot to kill and you cannot join them. Not sure if there are a lot, if any, quests relating to them or even befriending one of them, but it would've been awesome to join them, gain through the ranks. Slave trade would've been good as well.
Hate to sound like Palpatine here but "Evil is a point of view". The factions you are given currently, in their eyes, the others in many respects are a form of evil already. Often times this "evil" you're going on about is merely a difference in ideology. No one wakes up in the morning twirling their handlebar mustache and says "I wanna be evil". They often believe their actions are fully justified according to their own moral outlook. The institute, Railroad, and Brotherhood can all be viewed as evil to a degree, no matter their supposedly altruistic aims. The only faction that doesn't have some agenda that involves harming or killing others are the Minutemen really, who simply want to help people in the Commonwealth as glorified police people. This is only in it's current incarnation anyway, as even they as a group kinda messed up before you take over, thus the mistrust you encounter when trying to reform them.
I don't think this is a spoiler or anything, so I want to point out the conversation between Kent Connoly and his friend in the studio when they are discussing a guy selling drugs to kids in Good Neighbor. Kent is adamant that the guy needs to be punished while his buddy asks rather confused as to why? Kent goes on about how it's bad to sell drugs to kids, and his friend responds with comments like "I don't get it.." It's a pretty hilarious exchange but it shows that what one person considers evil just doesn't resonate with everyone.
Even the Minutemen getting a little bad Image by the Ending. Where Civilists die, because they all do the same like BoS and RR. But yes to the Rest.
I'm playing evil right now, a shame theres amny quests, where you are either good or don't get the quest at all.
Still, some quests lie Cabot House are awesome for selfish scumbags.
How is the game in its' current state preventing you from approaching the story in an evil/selfish way?
...other than the cackling-psychotic-maniac type of evil, in which case, no I don't feel that I need that option...
When was the last time you paid any of your settlers a wage? All their property and everything they produce belongs to you to do with as you see fit. You can move them to anywhere you want and assign them to work on whatever you tell them. They will never leave, as long as they are kept healthy with food, water and shelter and properly supervised by guards and/or turrets.
That is pretty much the definition of slavery...
Well I don't generally but I'll have an evil playthough supporting the Institute.....also you can slaughter every farming community in the Commonwealth for fun and profit, so its good to have the evil option, rather than just being a [censored] in conversations and the odd bit of business with a slave trader.
No, but I would like it to be an option. Being good is pretty meaningless unless you have the option to do otherwise.
They work for their own secured Home with perma Water and Food. For what should i pay them? In good Communism System you dont need Money because everyone has soemthing to do and what they do is just for staying alive and improve the Living Standards. Look at the Institute, they have the same System with just a higher Technology. How you think they get paid? Capitalism cant exist in that World at all.
I voted yes but I don't play evil characters... I like playing complicated characters where the outcome depends on the situation... But to play as a pure "evil" character I wouldn't be interested but I would like the option to have a moral grey area...
Not personally but I think you should have the option to if that is what you want.
No, but I like the option to be there. Please let me explain. What is the satisfaction in being good when there is no option to be evil? I like having the opportunity to reject the evil option, and others can play that way if they wished. Also, sometimes I like to make a character who starts out evil and sees the error of their ways, or a character who starts out good and slips into darkness. Options are very limited this time and with the mother/wife/domestic/lawyer character we are given. It's hard to imagine her as ever being 'evil'.
