Pretty much only two distinct "builds", like lesser and greater, or male and female, or whatever suits. Then have some varying features on them to make them slightly different. Just as we make our own characters.

Male or female dragons... I really don't know how they would show the difference, besides a clutch of eggs being guarded by the mother... or gods forbid, giving them briasts... which would be stupid and insulting if they did.

Well, I don't think there really will be that many dragons in the game, I mean there is only c. 20 shouts, so doesn't that mean only 20 dragons? So I think each dragon should be unique in both appearance and toughness/abilities. I would dislike if the dragons were distinctly seperated into types like in Yu-Gi-Oh or something, with blue, gold, frost, or whatever they had (p.s. was never really into playing cards), I think the distinctions should only be observable by the dragon's appearance and behaviour and each should be rather unique (although following an obvious theme) but I don't want to see them labelled as their "type" when you search their body. I'm actually kind of worried about how you are supposed to kill them, I mean I think it would be very cool if you could get high enough and jump on their back to stab them cause visually and gameplay-wise I don't see how fun it would be to just cast spells or shoot arrows or melee them whenever they got near.

Um, I don't necessarily see why it would be necessary to give dragon's briasts seeing as I don't think any reptiles have them (think it is a mammal only thing?), but I also don't see why it would be "stupid and insulting," well maybe stupid for reasons I've already mentioned, but insulting? But if you look at many animals (again not usually reptiles, I don't think), especially birds there are some very clear differences between the genders, so I think it would be cool if let's say the males had fancier frills around their heads or something, I mean I'm not talking some Elf faerie dragon (which there is nothing wrong with, just maybe wouldn't fit in this game) but I think the artists could work it into the aesthetic of the game somehow.

I think that there will be different dragons because there are 20 different shouts so maybe 20 different types of dragons? But then again there are 60 words so maybe each on has a different word so 60 different dragons???

Not only would it be nice if they look different, but I'd love it if there were different factions of dragons too. I really hope they aren't one dimensional with every one of them being the enemy.

I think there just red dragons.

I wouldn't care for a whole species full.

But I wouldlike to see small differences in them that shows they are more than just beasts.

Some have scars, others have a more human like face, or one is missing an eye, another is sticking its tongue out like a dog, theres a dragon thats missing a foot, dragons with different horns and other head features like fins.

Different types of dragons would keep it fresh, I think. Looking different for sure but also using different fighting/hunting techniques. Eg. Ones that tend to stay airborne, ones that prefer to fight on the ground, those that go out of their way to hunt and stalk prey, and those who fiercely defend their environment when you are thought to be "trespassing". This could mean that various shouts would be more useful when up against one type of dragon than another.

*As a disclaimer, I am in no way a lore buff so don't know if that idea could even work* :)

I hope so. Since they're able to speak, I don't want to think "Wut... Speaking to you again?!"

I don't even care if they have different models, as long as they can surprise you with their abilities and attacks.

Good poll :D

Yeah i`d love to see different coloured dragons and it would be brilliant if they some different type of characteristics to them. Maybe one would have a half broken horn, or slightyl different facial animations from each other.

Colour wise, i`d love to see Reds, Whites, Greens, Blues etc. oh and it would great if there was a really nasty big one that was a black dragon..

I tweeted Pete about it, got an extremely unsatisfying answer:

http://twitter.com/IHATETWlTTER/status/28326388616400896
@DCDeacon Will every dragon be of a similar body style (wyvern)? Or will there be a variety of breeds present?

@DCDeacon Maybe a dumb question here - but will some/most of the Dragons in Skyrim be huge? [By huge, I mean significantly bigger than you].

@MattMcCarty007 @IHATETWlTTER Every dragon is big, and cool.

I'd like to see larger and deeper dungeons versus the random vast numbers of smaller dungeons a la oblivion. So I'd say 3 or 4 vastly deep and large dungeons, 8 or 9 mid sized dungeons, and 20 or 30 oblivion sized dungeons.

lol. I doubt it's ever going to happen but hey it's what I would want in large world RPG dungeons.

By large I mean something around the size of King's Field IV's Ancient City. Mid sized would be around a quarter to a third of the size of a large dungeon, and small would be your standard side quest dungeon you would see in Oblivion.

No, I meant "What are you talking about? This doesn't have anything to do with anything."

Ah ok. No I understood the OP. If you've ever played KS IV you'll know what I'm talking about and how it adds to the variety. I'm sort of thinking outside the box here.

Yes. I just hope they don't do anything like the D&D "colour coded morality" thing; red- and black-scaled of different sizes, with perhaps some unique designs for specific, important dragons, would be enough variation.

Having said that, I'd also love to see a model for Tosh Raka, the red- and orange-scaled tiger-dragon of Akavir (mentioned in http://www.imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-mysterious-akavir).
