If the rebels were pro-slavery it would make siding with the Imperials a much easier decision too.
Of what I know of nord history, there is no mention of slavery. They prefer to kill enemies, not enslave them. Hell, the nords didn't even take Aleyid slaves during the liberation of the humans of Cyrodiil in the 1st era, when the nords were super hardcoe, and willing to wage a war against the newly liberated Cyrodiils for continuing to worship the merrish pantheon.

If you ask me, I find it to go against nord culture, and find slavery to be a merrish institution. And because the nords are not very friendly with merrish ideas, I doubt this would be something they would pick up on. Again, they prefer killing their enemies, not keep them around.

Example: Necromancy.
ONLY in the Mages Guild. It is legal everywhere else, save for Morrowind and HIGHLY regulated in Summerset Ilse. Oblivion did a piss poor job, as it should be known that the government in Cyrodiil did sponsor necromancers, as they're a great group to dispose dead bodies of bandits. Same with High Rock. Nothing was really mentioned about Skyrim, other than bodies tend to be hidden in snow, bodies decay too quickly in Black Marsh, necromancers in Valenwood "become one with the forest" and the bosmer aren't fond of it because that's playing with food, the redguards tend to give the dead Arkay's Blessing to nearly every body (save for mass battles), Elsywr doesn't give a [censored], and Orsimar is unknown.

Yes to racism. There was not nearly enough difference between being various races in OB. Slavery? Eh, maybe. I could see some dunmer refugees trying to keep slaves, or the return of slavery simply because the empire is so powerless now, and it was the empire which forced the provinces to abolish slavery (except for morrowind)

I think it should be in the game however not based on race. I think it would be well expected for prisoners of war to be used for labor. The civil war is going to out weigh politically any racial tension and those simply not loyal to a faction I think could be used as slaves regardless of race. Maybe the side wanting to leave the empire is a little less civilized and will sell slaves while the other just uses prisoners of war for manual labor until the war is over.

I think the war and the Dragons are going to be the main issues so slavery being outlawed throughout should be unlikely with opinions divided. Maybe in some areas and cities maybe not in some and for sure a black market for slavery you can either join or fight. Even serfs which were abundant in real world medieval times were no more than glorified slaves with no real rights. cyrodill was much more civilized but Morrowind was more brutal and traditionalist. I see no reason Skyrim would be any less brutal than Morrowind.

Except the dunmer are a powerless people, with only 1 village, and are living in the good graces of the nords. It is very unlikely they have the power to keep it, as it really doesn't take much reason for the nords to eliminate mer.

To note, the nords on Solstheim, namely the Skaal, are NOT Skyrim nords. But, I also highly doubt they like slavery. Hell, the guys in Thirsk, who are very Skaal-lite, didn't like keeping people against their will, and didn't really give two [censored] for the guy you killed to save the redguard missionary.

Showing the true brutality of humanity=win.

Slavery
[censored] aka forced intercourse
massacre of a village
heads on pikes

You know some really really really messed up stuff.

That way when i RP my Devout crusader of the nine i can smite the enemies of ....blah bla bh

Also i want some extreme racism

some truly truly dark stuff; primarily to evoke emotions in the player to do what is right.

Yes, because it adds another level of social and moral complexity to the game that makes it more immersive and believable. Specifically in regards to Morrowind, you could hear the discrimination in the voices of the dunmers to the "outlander." You could see the subjugation of the argonians plowing the lands on plantations for the rich farmers. You could see the social issues and overall tension/atmosphere of what was going on in Morrowind because of these subtle implications. Especially with this civil war going on between the loyalists and the separatists, it would be interesting to hear the different sides' views on slavery and other morally-questionable topics.

I have a feeling that their version of "Slavery" will be prisoners of war being forced to work against their brothers. If a Nord would accept that sort of fate. I am not big on lore but for some reason I can see a Nord accepting death rather than being imprisoned. Let me know if I am wrong in saying that. Seriously, I would like to know.

I don't see slavery fitting well. I don't expect to see the more neurotic-and-infanticidal Altmer that far up north in large enough numbers to facilitate slavery, and the only other ones with the history to back the trade's presence are the Dunmer. And well, I would have far more appreciation for the theme of their most recent tragedy if the Dunmer remnants successfully learned Love. Slavery as an institution doesn't fit well with that.

I can't really see the Nords keep slaves(on an average basis, it will always be someone different) since itis outlawed everywhere except Morrowind(until King Helseth abolish it, at least) and the Nords have been strong supporters of the Empire, but I would guess that some of the Dunmer would still claim to the old traditions and keep slaves. It might be a few quests around this if it is in, logicly thinking.

Hmm. Im thought people would like slavery from morrowind to return but oh well

Well yes, but only if it fits with the game world. I loved Morrowind, but Skyrim doesnt have to copy all the themes in that game.

I would really be interested in having slaves in-game only if I'm able to buy them and/or have them work in my property. I wouldn't be interested in freeing them very much. ( Unless they decied to work for me out of gratitude, of course)

Exactly! It fit Morrowind, and there was backstory that has shown the dunmer are known for slavery. With Skyrim, there is NO mention of slavery whatsoever. And honestly, adding it would feel too much like a shoehorn for those fanatical with Morrowind. Don't get me wrong, I loved Morrowind and it is my favorite TES title, but I'd like the series to move away from Dunmeri everything, which everyone seems to want.

Plus, people, the dunmer are a weak, broken, and humiliated people. They had their home country sacked and occupied by argonians, the lowest of the slaves to them. And let us not forget that the nords are not the biggest fans of mer. They could, if they really wanted to, just slaughter them with little to no reason if the dunmer people pull something the nords don't like.

I could see this being a bit of role reversal from Morrowind, what with the Skyrim/Morrowind war and a large amount of Dunmer refugees, I'm sure many of them were enslaved or indentured in order to survive.

I think there may or may not be slaves since Alot of darkelves in skyrim were forced out of thier homeland. So I figure will some of them as well as some nords would run an Illegal slave trade?

Don't have permission to vote in the poll :/ would've voted no.

This is the first topic i'm ambivalent at. On one hand i cringe at the idea and i wouldn't use it. On the other, I guess it makes sense in this context, it is plausible. So long as one isn't required to exploit the slave to solve an important quest.
