You want Spear?

Spears: yes! It fits for Skyrim.
Crossbows and throwing stars? Makes no sense. Not in Skyrim that is. In Morrowind, yes. But not Skyrim.

As much as I'd like to have spears in the game, it just doesn't seem to be enough skills left for us to use spears with. 18 skills remember? Still, I votes Yes. As in Yes.

1 perk for CQC weapons? Merged with swords?

Yes, spears. Why not...?

No, I do not want spears. I'm not shouting "NOOOOOO!!!!!!" or "I ADAMANTLY OPPOSE THEIR INCLUSION", but I don't use or care about spears in Morrowind and won't do so in Skyrim, if available. Therefore, I really don't care.

I want spears too... But I notice that there are 250 for votes.... Do you really think Bethesda care that much about 250 votes for spears? 250 votes by people who will probably buy the game even if it doesn't have spears? I think the number of votes this is likely to get is nowhere near enough to convince Bethesda to move spears up in their list of priorities.

I doubt many of those people even really mean it. I know that spears are not used by 90% of the people, here... not with the other weapons available. People are inclined to vote yes for more of anything, regardless of whether they actually care or not.

I'm still pretty sure they added spears. If not, It's just going to be a tiny deception.

I am not sure why people don't think some weapon or another fits while another does not fit. Tamriel is one continent and as far as I know their is no border patrol tracking down and killing all the spear smugglers. How can crossbows fit a few hundred miles to the east but not in Skyrim? Why can't a dark elf from Morrowind bring his crossbow to Skyrim and then die?

Have to agree. Of all the complaints about Oblivion, none of them said Katanas didn't make sense.

But what about the people that did and will use spears? Do our opinions not matter?

I never said they didn't, but asking a forum if they want more of anything will not net a serious reply, in many cases, and the devs are not gods. They need to know what is actually wanted and therefore, they need to know what they should actually put into the game. People voting yes for more of something they wouldn't use is most definitely not unheard of. If you love spears, then by all means, I'm not saying you don't, but asking a forum's opinion will almost always result in a large "yes" majority... as long as the base for that stuff was in a game the voting members have played from the series, of course.

Anybody watch the movie Dragonslayer? That there weapon was not anything, but one big and bad spear. That's what you kill dragons with... and magic.

Definitely want spears! The added depth in combat with the length of the weapon adds so much to the mechanics.

THIS IS SPARTA SKYRIM

how the hell are you going to kill a dragon without a spear anyways? pepper it with arrows, cut it a little with swords, tap it with a mace?

i want a one handed spear, a two handed spear, a halberd (a halberd is closer to spear than it is axe- the axes with long handels are something different) glaives, naginatas, crazy double ended bladed weapon etc

fun fact- polearms are much more versatile than swords and blunts

As long as we aren't swinging them like a club. I want nice shield defense, spear poised, and thrust forward when there's an opening--which I can't see happening because of how they have shields set up. All well. I can dream.

It's sad that this is even an issue, but thanks to Oblivion it is. A fantasy RPG consisting of medieval weapons, and there's a question whether to include the most widely used, basic weapon in human history?
Like I said, the very fact that we have to discuss this is pathetic. I want my damned Spear of Bitter Mercy back

Indeed. The Wabbajack just doesn't cut it. Plus it now has the deadly potential to transform rats into dragons. :ahhh:
