I wouldn't mind it being released on 3 discs. But in one package.
If it was released in 3 separate parts, I would be ..upset :brokencomputer: :banghead: :swear:

What a flipping DISASTER.

You can't split up a plot into three separate games when they're open-ended! This ain't Super Mario Brothers.

three discs would make sense in ONE senario. a third of ALL the plots takes place in...lets say Elswere. Then, the second disc would let your caracter continue the plots in... Blackmarsh for example. Finally, you can wrap it all up in... Moaromer for example. each place would be about the size of Vvardenfell. I'd love that.

Uh, I dont think the main story of Oblivion was worth splitting it up at all.

My sentiments. If the parts took place in different regions, and, rather than expanding one main quest, had several, then I would be interested. But then, dlc's already do this.

I want it all at once, so I can wallow in the experience like a warthog in a mud puddle.

I would buy Dlcs that add guilds or quests as this would increase the possibilities for role-playing.

No! It's a sand box game. Expansions ok, but main story split on different games, no thanks.

Like everyone else has said, no, I do not. I know you feel that with this system, games would be released much quicker, but it would also make the game just another non-TES RPG. The point of TES games is that you have a huge open world to explore, and it's very common for people to spend hundreds, even thousands of hours playing the game before they get bored. Split the games up into multiple parts, and the feeling of being able to do what you want, when you want, will fade away.

While it seems like an interesting idea, it actually completely breaks the magic and spirit of whole TES series: feeling of freedom and endless exploration.

Proof: do you remeber how people were just outraged when Oblivion with its invisible barrier was out ?

Everybody on the forums felt then like being imprisoned and robbed of his individual in-game freedom.

And this is exactly same: when questing or exploring you are abruptly presented with message or whatever saying that you can not go on until another episode comes out.

This svcks some seriously gargantuan testicles.

Terrible idea. Why would you even want to play a game like that?

What does the barrier in Oblivion have to do with anything? Do you have a better alternative, aside from having the world go on forever? In an endless, repeating loop of scerery?

Anyways, it's better than Dragon Age: Origin's system of invisible barriers, plus a little prompt stating that "You feel no reason to go that way".

I don't want a game divided into parts. Cliffhangers are among the worst things that ever been introduced into games. I want proper endings.

I agree, Isn't Starcraft being divided up into three parts? I think that was a bad idea.

Oh yeah, and people are going to lap it up like dogs. Blizzard's doing this because they know they can get away with it.

Maybe you guys are being to hasty in judging this due to looking at it the wrong way. I agree that almost no one wants it to end up like Half-Life 2, and no one wants the game being split into three parts to limit the gameplay. But instead of comparing it to Half-Life, perhaps think of Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, or even Gothic I & II (III hardly counts as a game). I know that only Gothic could even be considered a sandlot game, but I'm just using these as examples of successful (IMO) trilogies.
None of the games in TESV would be incomplete, each would be a full game. Imagine that Morrowind is the secong game in the series and Oblivion is the third: In order to defeat Mehrunes Dagon, you must first become Nerevar, thus, Morrowind has it's own MQ, but it is also necessary to complete Oblivion. Perhaps they could even design it so that your character could visit all the places in the prevous games.

I'm not saying that I think this is the best method, only that it does have some merit and is something to think about.
