Do you want a voiced character?

You're using a theory revolving around an unconfirmed leak as fact... Until it's confirmed it's still speculation.. I hope.

Quite frankly, no I do not. A voiced protagonist is not only incredibly immersion breaking it means less dialogue as a whole and fewer dialogue options. Fewer dialogue options = fewer in game options to choose from.

I'm not inherently opposed to a voiced PC if it is done well, and used well to achieve a point in the narrative. But it does pose some limits to what kind of characters you can plausibly craft since the voicework gives a premade characterization whether wanted to or not; and that's not a particularly good thing.

What? How does having a voiced protagonist make the narrative (hint: that means story) any better? If anything a voiced protagonist takes away from the story because there are fewer options.

I don't think that anyone has made that claim. I think the observation was that a fixed character has the potential to make the narrative better; not their voice.

Yeah a youtuber which spams his videos everywhere to make money is always correct and Kotaku is also the most serious and quality gaming journalism we have ever seen.

No no please, my character having his own voice would really hurt my immersion. :(

For my own personal monologues? I make it work for me.

I like to do the "Mind of Freeman" thing.
