Do you want a voiced character?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 1:52 pm

I saw the trailer and almost cried. I had a smile on my face the whole way through till I heard the vault dweller Talk. Then It when to a straight frown. (I'm dead serious)

Like this idea is worse than the paid mod Idea.....Just saying...

UPDATE: Your character will infact get a voice

Nope. I never want to see a voiced Player Character (PC) in Fallout 4 or any future video games developed and sold by Bethesda Game Studios.

The Dragon Age video games I'm ok with having a voiced Player Character (PC).

The Mass Effect video games I'm ok with having a voiced Player Character (PC).

The Wticher video games I'm ok with having a voiced Player Character (PC).

I'm not up for rioting. Maybe a boycott or protest. But not a riot.

It's funny. I won't read it on how I would say it in real life but this voiced guy will just take over....Pretty stupid if you ask me.

I didn't want to see it, but I have no problem with it (as long as there's enough resources invested in the truly important aspects of the game, i.e. interactivity, characters, narrative, gameplay mechanics). So I voted yes, love it.

There was going to be a riot if Fallout 4 wasn't showing up. Now I might save my resources for Mass Effect 4 if it shows its ugly head.

I'll go in the yes camp because I am intrigued.. Todd won't add anything that is so uncomforting as bad voice acting for main character. The flaw, however, comes with mods and the amount of the voice acting budget required for it.

Tch. Mass Effect 4 won't be worth the effort.

I'd rather the player character not be voiced, but if it turns out that way, it is something I will be able to tolerate.

Just so long as it isn't Troy Baker. He has become such an overused voice actor these days that it's hard to see a video game character as their own character and not Troy Baker.

Don't care either way. Although, I don't assume that the protagonist will be voiced.

With all the dialogue options that come with a fallout/elder scrolls game, I doubt they would voice every option for the vault dweller. We'd be waiting another 2 years! So that makes me think the character won't be voiced.

Let my characters be mute, I wish to establish my own PCs personality and background as much as I can.

It seems the poll is missing the "No, but if it's true we weep silently in the corner" option.

In all reality I'll be disappointed if the PC is voiced since that will leave less options for mods, I feel. Otherwise I don't really care all that much.

Yeah, if you could choose from different voices that'll cool.

"Lord Vader, the Fallout fans... they want our blood"

"Why do they want it?"

"They heard about the voiced protagonist somehow - I don't know It wasn't me!"

"You've failed me for the last time Mr. Hines"

"I swear it won't happen again Lord Vader!"

"There won't be a next time" *force choking*

What if this were actually true? What if Bethesda was owned by Darth Vader? Maybe I will riot, just a ltitle.

If It means severely limited character choice, then no voices.

if it is optional then I am 100% fine with it. if we are forced with a voice acted character then how I feel about it depends on how well its voice acted. But in the end even if I don't like it Im pretty sure I can ignore it. It won't sway my opinion of the game overall

Voiced dialogue means more money spent on the game and would mean far less dialogue over all which means less quests and so on. Would have to do a voice for both male and female player character.

So no, we don't need a voiced player character.

I also like to image the voice of my character.

I wouldn't mind it. I play female characters, and generally, most are good voice actresses. It seemed to work well for Mass Effect, so if there is a voice, I'm sure most will get used to it.

Ehh would prefer my character to not be voiced but its not a deal-breaker. I'll get over it.
