I think armor should be customizable for normal, non-power armour. It should look pieced together like raider or wastelander stuff.

I think there should be some kind of armor shop where you can have the vendor customize your armor. You could have the guy modify a set of power armor to be a scout model so that it is very light and mobile but still offers more protection than leather. Or you could take a set of combat armor and add more protection to the legs area because you're tired of being crippled when you set off mines.

As long as it isn't over the top with lasers and mini-cannons or some other crap it's fine with me. I think it should be basic stuff, add more protection, increase mobility, reduce weight, and stuff like that.

I agree on this

Keep it simple and realistic in vanilla and let the modders contribute with all the fancy stuff later on.

You do realize that putting together paint, metal, lead, heat and batteries would not make a comm system or night vision goggles, right?

Uh dude are you lost? paint obviously for looks, metal for bullet proofing armor, heat used to put lead coating to protect you from both fire and radiation some what, the batteries were a refrence to how they are about 100 years ahead of us even in their nuclear holocaust. A comm system could be easily done. By createing a chanel using the already existing towers and your pit boy or the t51b power armor helmet has the radio on it if you would just look at that little speaker on the side where your ear is. It is just common sence that the helmet would let you see things that human eyes cannot and I said thermal vision not night. Thermal is better then night because thermal can see through dust and smoke. But it cannot see through glass. Night vision would also be cool. Why would a socicety building a war machine made for liberating alaska and fighting in parts of northern china where it snows often not have diffrent modes of vision. These guys were badass's.

On the note of a vendor being able to do it. I would rather just use the work bench and be able to do limited things in the field. You should only pay a vendor if you do not have the skill to do it.

It's a post-apocalyptic world. Not so much of the fancy smancy technology is available in the Fallout universe as it is in our universe.

Its based over 200 years in the future with accelerated technology development, I'm pretty sure they would have mroe redily availible tech than we would regardless that they got nuked.

Yes, like adding bullet proof vests and backpacks, or for a wasteland feel, strapping a road sign to your chest.

I think it would be a good idea if they don't make it too crazy. The unique armors were described a modified, so it would be cool if you could mod armor yourself. I'm hoping I can make my Power Armor even more powerful, considering how many enemies had it, I need an edge.

I would want to customize the colors but not put more stuff on armor. Imagine a suit of power armor with heavy bullet proof plates on them, it would be like wearing 2 Fat Mans (the gun) on your body and you'll be walking like you are 80 years old. I chose "other (please post) on the poll.

I think it would be pretty badass to walk around with a combat helmet with a card/shotgun shell/etc. rubber banded to it, and many other customization options as well.

Nothing would complete wrecking raiders with a golf club more then a STOP sign tied to your chest . :P

I think a few armor mods would be okay as long as it's within reason. Adding armor plating to ordinary clothes while adding weight merely makes an un-needed addition, as there is probably light armor that would fill the same purpose.

Mods I'd want would be a flashlight, Night/thermal vision for certain goggle type items and/or power armor, and possibly a way to add more power to a powered suit of armor so a sprinting option is possible in power armor.

I want to be able to pick up a cattle skull and use it as shoulder armor. Ashur's power armor was beast.

There's actually a pink texture for BoS power armor in the vanilla game.

I would love the ability to, say, make my Power Armor matte black for night raids, or paint it red with orange flame decals on it, and not just the shoulders. Let us paitn our combat armor to our preferences, not just olive-drab. (Yeah, drab is right. ) Anywho. That's my two cents.

Voted "other". I wouldn't want too much customization, but what I would definitely want is to be able to combine different armors into a new armor. Take the chest piece of a combat armor and combine it with a regulator duster, that sort of thing. Then this new type of armor (combat duster?) can only be repaired by other such combined armors, so the trade off is simply that it's hard to maintain. I guess heavy armors could have small addons, I don't like the idea of taking PA's apart...

edit: and I don't want to see decals in the game... Too luxurious for the wasteland I reckon. You don't have time or energy to be thinking about how you look, you don't even wipe after taking a dump, why should you put stickers on your armor?

The only customisable armor i want to see is Power Armor, and the only thing i want customizable on that is the ability to make it into 'hardened power armor' by finding a scientist familier with the process, and whatever parts/journals he needs to perform the upgrade.

Anything else would just not feel like 'fallout'.

You're aware there's more to Fallout than Power Armor, right? Besides, the devs have already defied you and confirmed weapon and armor customization.

No i wasnt aware of that, i just run around in a vault suit till i find some power armour

Of course theres more than just power armour in a fallout game, i just find it a little weird to be able to be able to put colors on armour when everyone else in the game world is stuck with generic armor, and would much rather the overall stats on armour to change with differing armour types then upgrade my leather armour to deflect bullets.

And i was aware that the devs have confirmed weapon upgrades being implemented, probably in the same way they were in previous fallout games but i have heard nothing regarding armour.

No, not really. Three mods per weapon, it is my understanding that you can do it any number of times, maybe even on your own (repair check). In any case, it's actual customization, not just an upgrade.
