If you were in Skyrim, would you fight in the war?

I'm not saying you're trying to cause anything but calling him a loud mouth might upset a few users and... you know...

I'd play both sides against the middle. Profiteering ftw! :P

No I would not fight for any side. I might support one (stormcloaks) but go to war itself? Doubtful. I'd be seeking employment from a blacksmith to help make weapons and armors for the war but you would not find me storming any forts under a hail of arrows.

To be honest, I thought you would be supporting the Forsworn or something  why not be a trader who smuggles gear and info to the forsworn?

Well the topic was about which side of the war you would take. The forsworn are not a part of the war... but yeah I'd probably be a forsworn spy then :D bring imperial and stormcloak troop information to Madanach so they could set out and raid the supply lines. :D

No way.

1. I don't think I'm capable of killing someone. And defintely not hacking someone to death with a sword.
2. I wouldn't last more than five minutes. If even that.
3. I would never risk my own life for some Jarl or Empire.
4. IRL, I would never ever join an army either.

Probably not. My feelings towards the civil war tend to be neutral - there are specific individuals and actions from each side that I judge, but as groups I think each have valid and invalid points of view.

Also, I'm not really built for physical labour...

I would not get involved in this Civil War as long as either side are not hostile towards me. Now, if and when Great War II happens, then I would participate.

I probably wouldn't fight in the war. Being that I'm 99% of the time a solitary person, I don't get involved in politics, unless it's to better myself. Which lets face it, regardless of which side you're on Tullius and Ulfric only use you as a pawn, to better themselves.

If I were not on the front lines, sure.

Getting killed in a multitude of different ways is not my cup of tea.

Yet even though I support one side, I would be very hesitant to take part in the conflict.

It would be hard to be in the front line, sure. But as a survivor (I fought for my life and survived IRL hehe, just took a shot but nothing permanently serious) I can say that if you are motivated by a greater goal, you can do it. Or eventually die in glory. I would not regret that.

Well said, I feel the same. (Although, I've never really been badly hurt irl) I would join the military irl, but I just can't get behind what my country is doing.

I understand what you mean. I was about to do the same, or join the police. But our military is inexistant and our police is badly rotten. So...

It's the same here, I'd love to join an army in real-life but they answer to the wrong kind of people. Have debated becoming a mercenary for years, but they tend to answer to the exact same kind of people and at any rate you need military experience before they'll look at you. Plus the UK's military is currently in the process of being turned upside-down and shaken for loose change, then left hanging.

Give me a cause, and an axe, and I'm there.

I'd stay locked away in my home worshiping the divines and eating sweet rolls and drinking mead. :P

Skyrim is scary as hell! It's a frozen wasteland full with mammoths and vampires. I can't even form a fist, let alone wield a sword. And not to mention that I wouldn't die for any cause whatsoever. I hear people all the time "blah blah blah, you'll never take my freedom of speech blah blah!" And I just think to myself "Whoooo cares!??"

So no, I enjoy being a wuss, and hopefully I would be able to chat up some cute girl like Ysolda and have her hug me and console me.

I'm not a Nord nor kneel to any gods so why should I care who rules the land and risk my life fighting for it? I would only fight if me and mine are in immediate danger.

Well joining the war would completely depend on my character and role-play. It isn't something I just randomly chose to do or not to do.

Indeed. Let the children fight amongst themselves.

Now the talk of making a profit off of such, that sounds much more ideal to my taste.
