If you were in Skyrim, would you fight in the war?

Post » Mon Apr 07, 2014 11:52 pm

I DO NOT GIVE A DAMN WHAT SIDE YOUPICK. Feel free to state it in this thread, but please don't get into the whys, and please please please please please don't question anyone else's choice. That's not what we're here to do.

We're here, ladies and gentlemen, to see who, if we were in Skyrim - as ourselves, with enough skill and stamina to stand a fighting chance, knowing what we know as players - would fight in the civil war and how many would not?

I would've loved to make a poll, but I can't as my computer seems to have a problem with the forums, so at the end I'll add up all the yesses and nos in the comments and tell all you lovely people what the results are.

I would be the rogue that would use the war to my advantage but no, I would not directly side with one of the groups.

Depends what war your talking about. The one between the Stormcloaks and the Empire? Or the war with the Thalmor? I will assume you mean the Civil War, in which case i would not fight for either side since it's a pointless war with its only purpose being to benefit the Thalmor.

I should clarify I did mean the civil war, the thread-naming box thingy wasn't long enough (originally had the word 'actually' in there too).

And this is a surprising amount of yesses, I thought I'd be the freak. I'd definitely fight. Not too sure which one I'd pick in real-life, likely the same as in-game, but I'd definitely fight.

Talos guide you~

I'd side with the stormcloaks as usual. Not as a warrior though cause I don't feel like dying (I have no sword skill :P ) But I'd be an archer (I practice archery offline)

I wouldn't want to take a side in the civil war. It would svck squaring off against a friend, family, or a friend's family. Do I spare them, allowing them the chance to kill my allies? Or do I kill them?

Conducting war against the Thalmor, on the other hand, is a no-brainer provided I'd have combat skills.

Nah. I'd rather not die for a purpose I feel to be fairly pointless.

Nope. It's not like I'm singlehandedly going to change the tide of the war. It would just be a waste of time and energy to get involved.

Now in this scenario are we our characters of choice in Tamriel or are we our real selves?

Remember the old Anti War Slogan "Suppose they gave a way, and nobody came?"

I would avoid it myself if I was really there. As far as the game is concerned, I would become involved in the civil war at least so I would not have to hear Galmar say one more time, "If they are not with us, they are against us" At least I think it was him, but hearing that line every time I walked into Ulfric's Throne room set my teeth on edge.

That and the Loud-mouth's talking is why I try to avoid the Palace of Kings.

I always visit there just to hear them speaking. I love listening to Ulfric's "I fight" thing.

No way. I don't see any profit in it for me. I'd probably be off to the side taking bets.
