I'd join NCR, I'm from California, so they'd probably rule my hometown. On second thought, my town would probably be a settlement in the Shi Empire, I'm closer to San Fransisco then the place Shady Sands would be (east of Mt. Whitney.)
If it were an option, I'd join the Followers, it fits me more; I like helping people, and I'm afraid of violence. However, I would probably be at one of their ouposts in NCR instead of going to New Vegas.

The legion only if I could change their view on women and maybe slavery, I haven't actually met them yet (I don't mind the torture) or myself, definitely not NCR because I don't want another American govt or house because he is also too capitalistic (sorry martyr)

That and the air conditioned SPF 50,000 suit that comes with the job, being Scottish I have 2 colours, pale blue and scarlet! So the living underground and only coming out at night works too

Probably NCR, if I had to choose.

If not... probably still NCR, but I'd probably I'd retire rather early. Live out in Novac, my favorite town, and kill all the factions that tried to mess with them. Yes, all of the factions.

Honestly, I'd help the NCR, they seem to be the best bet for a better America. I'd also get the Boomers and BoS to help them so they can together make a mightier fighting force.

while the top folks in NCR are corrupt. The common soldiers and lower ranking officials are real and moderatly nice. I think i would join them as they are the oldest and most democratic.

BoS predates NCR by nearly 100 years, but yes NCR do appear to be the most democratic from what we've been told. But they are still run by the politicians at the end of the day.

I reckon I'd side with House to be honest. He's powerful and intelligent, and there's not a single point in the game that I've seen where he hasn't been 100% sure of himself. He also seems to have the people of the wasteland in mind to a point. Although I've never completed the game whilst siding with him, so I don't know how it all turns out.

The NCR would probably be my second choice. The only reason I picked House over the NCR is due to the NCR's lack of coordination and will to live. They're spread out all over, [censored]ting themselves because they're about to get bumrushed by a bunch of looneys wearing football padding and toting machetes.

Caesar's Legion are a no go for me. Mainly because of the slavery and their attitude towards women. They do a lot of things right though. Their attitude towards criminals is damn near perfect, and I like the fact that they force everyone to train in order to keep strong. They'd probably be the way to go for me if they would only rein in the slavery and mysogyny.

The NCR; slavery is despicable, and autocracies only create problems (see ancient Athens, before they became a democracy), Really, in a few years I expect the NCR to make contact with the Eastern BoS and the New District of Columbia.

I doubt they have that kind of ability, especially when they are being held up by a group of people that primarily use Machetes and Throwing Spears and hardly wear any armor. At best, I would give the NCR 40-60 years before they could make contact with the inhabitants of Washington D.C.

I played the game trying to make the decisions I would've made in real life. I always make a "me" character when I run through FO games for the first time.

I sided with Mr. House for a while, but I got tired of him telling me what to do and treating me like a tool.

It didn't work out well for him.

If the game continued past the end, I'd help the Followers of the Apocalypse, the Boomers, and the Kings rise to power and dump all of the rich casino tribes (in my game they were all dead anyway). There wouldn't be a Freeside anymore. It'd just all be New Vegas. NCR could barter with us for electricity and food. The Khans would get their lands back in exchange for not raiding caravans. They would also serve as a hedge between me and the NCR and whatever was left of the Legion. If they got out of hand then, well, they'd learn not to. I'd invest heavily in agriculture and sanitation to start with.

I tried to like the NCR, but it bothered me that nobody asked them to be there or asked for their "protection" in the first place. They were just another group of raiders really.

I couldn't have said it any better. Always liked the Kings they where the only group besides the followers who actually cared for the people in Freeside. 360 degrees of 105mm howitzer fire makes a good raider deterrent as well.

Edit: Mr. House has the right idea though, true he is using the people but you gotta have a means to your end and his end benefits all of humanity.
